Great stuff Chris. Tommy Jackson was a superb fiddler.

Another great video. Double stops are so much nicer than just cramming in a lot of extra notes.

As a Texan, it's close to state law that you learn to dance this.

I sent an email for the pdf, and in the email I mentioned an album from 1976 I had stumbled upon where Dewey Balfa is teaching traditional cajun music. YT music, Smithsonian Folkways I believe, both have it Traditional Cajun Fiddle Instruction by Dewey Balfa & Tracy Scwartz. It's worth a listen just to hear a cajun's description of how to fiddle. Balfa, Savoy, Menard are cajun royalty almost. I'd found it minutes before I emailed you Chris and I have to correct something that is driving me nuts. Bob Wills, not Bill Monroe. Texas would give me a whuppin' if they knew I swapped Bill for Wills. Whew. I feel better now. I'm not a complete dumbass, but I do love Cajun accents and traditional music. Hearing Dewey Balfa speaking, why, I was overcome with a case of vapors!

Hi Amy, easy to mix up Bob Wills and Bill Monroe if you're not concentrating. Both quite similar characters in their own way!
