I think Duke has a Gonzaga situation looks good against these bottoms tier teams and everybody rates them good bc they have good metrics and then soon as the play a team that’s battle tested they lose

@@jasonmansell5469 Or have never seen upsets of teams that were more dominant than this year's Auburn and Duke teams, like 1991 UNLV in the semis or 1985 Georgetown in the championship game or #1 seeds going down in the second round. Or Auburn losing to Yale in the first round of last year's tournament.

I’ve been thinking about a possible draft and stash system, where guys like Cooper can stay in school for multiple years, gaining alot of leadership intangibles as well as fundamentals. The NBA team could draft the player after their freshman year, but the player stays at their school until he wants to leave, but has to play in college every year they commit. The player still earns the NBA salary while in school, and you could even do a trust, with a small percentage accessible immediately, while most of the money will be safe until the player is ready for it. The NBA will gain more fundamentally sound players and can stop this AAU-like style of play that is a major turnoff to fans. College basketball will actually be able to create storylines with future NBA legends, it would work for everyone. The G league is a dead zone, and college is the best development for American players.

If you actually think a young player is going to develop faster in college than the NBA playing an 82 game schedule against tough competition and NBA teams are going to pay guys who might be among their top 2 or 3 players to play somewhere else. It's a complete fantasy that is only in the best interest of college basketball fans who don't care about the NBA (like me).

This would create super teams REAL fast. Okc went from trash to one of the top teams in 4 years. Imagine u get a 23 year old Luka who is basically a superstar because u were bad 4 years ago, but u signed 2-3 good free agents , developed your youngsters, and now u have a super team

As an AU fan having played almost every top 25 team so far lol I would take Iowa st as a team that should be in the top 3 to beat over bama. Auburn, Duke, Iowa st.

Has everyone forgot Duke beat Auburn and Arizona? We also play Illinois which all these guys are high on. The ACC does suck but Dukes defense is so good!
@Don-md6wn6 күн бұрын
Everybody who was any good beat Arizona in November and December. Alabama easily beat Illinois, Tennessee beat them, and they've lost several games in the Big 10. The tournament will decide this, not speculation in January about who is best right now. I've watched Duke and think the combination of how bad the rest of the ACC is and not having a reliable 2nd and 3rd scorer make them vulnerable to other top teams in the tournament. If an athletic team played zone to limit Flagg in the paint and could still do a decent job of guarding the 3 point line to prevent wide open shots, I'm not sure how Duke would deal with it.
