We win this game by ten with Lamont. We lose this game by 30+ with Cal. And we have now beaten the 3rd and 4th ranked teams in Kenpom. This team is only going to get better. MUCH better. Once they stop going into half time with a double digit deficit, finish better at the rim and find a way to get Brea looks, this team will be lethal.

totally agree. although, not having Kerr is unfortunate. I think this team goes w/ Butler, and he's the key. Kerr is amazing in doses but, having to use one of our main scorers running point at times will hurt us. Free throws are also concerning, especially for a bunch of 5th yr seniors. Physicality has to improve

I'll be glad when we stop comparing or mentioning Cal after every win. But there was a moment in OT when UK had a 6 point lead with about a min and a half to go where UK was still in attack mode and they got Oweh to the FT line. If that was Cal, we'd of tried to run the shot clock down to 5 seconds and heaved up a bad shot. Calipari doesnt coach in close games, he clutches pearls. People forget how bad he tried to blow the 2012 National Championship in both the UL & Kansas games by going to his patented clutching pearl sets and giving the opponent a chance. It was basically the same as the 2008 National Championship game and 2015 F4 game except Anthony Davis was a cheat code and bailed him out.

Yeah but you said it yourself, national championship. Running out the clock works in a lot of sports and sometimes basketball is one of them, and he won a title doing it. Two things need to happen you need to have more points and you need the clock to read all zeros. But people gonna keep talking about Cal for a while. Reputations are staked on this being a good move and until Pope can match the four Calipari banners hanging over his head every time he goes to work, the reputations at stake will need to justify the call they made.

Goodman is an example of someone, and I think I can speak for more of BBN than just myself, that we thought hated UK. Hated BBN. But in reality, it seems he just didn't like Cal. It is really a crazy thing to witness. Hell, Fanta didn't have many nice things to say about UK last year. Even Tyler Hansbrough has complimented Pope and this system. It is just refreshing to see, honestly, that the issue was what many of us saw as the issue. N

Cal will be remembered as the coach who did the least with the most. We had WAY more disappointing losses in games that MATTERED than wins. If you exclude recruiting class rankings and winning the NBA draft every year, those years were AWFUL. John Wooden won around a DOZEN titles with all his NBA talent. Cal got bumped by Oakland and didn't start the 3rd and 9th pick of the NBA draft.

Cmon y’all, I know we love our basketball team more than anyone else in the world and more than we should and it’s not a good look when we keep bringing up Calipari,sure,the man made a lot of mistakes and he was a decent coach and for years he was bar none the best recruiter, but the game has changed and being a good recruiter means a lot less, Cal always tried, and usually got the best players available which has a downside and they wanna get paid so UK was just a step in the process to getting their money and I imagine coaching a team of 18 year old players against a team of more experienced players,even just 1 year of NCAA basketball makes a huge difference,but we gotta give the man a break and leave his name out of it and I realize that’s gonna be hard but it makes us look petty,just read the comments in some of these videos,you’ll see what I mean 🤷‍♂️
