With regard to Cryer taking 26 shots to get 30 points, Oats said after the game that their defensive strategy was (as it always is) to make them take non rim 2's, i.e. the same analytics that drive his offensive strategy. Houston took a lot of non rim 2's and shot 39% on them. Cryer looked to be worn out late in the game from carrying the load and Oats put size on him late with Derrion Reed.

Mo Dioubate looked like prime Dennis Rodman for Alabama last night with 10 points, 16 boards and 3 blocks. I think he earned a permanent spot in the rotation. When Stevenson and Omoruyi get going and Chris Youngblood is ready to play, Alabama is going to be great. Oats can play different lineups from game to game depending on matchups and who is playing well. Holloway is looking more like the 5 star recruit coming out of high school than the freshman he was for Auburn last season. The top of the SEC is going to be entertaining with Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Kentucky and Florida.

I don't know how many people remember this, but when Dan Hurley was a player at Seton Hall, he left the team for awhile for a mental health break. He was struggling as a player and with being constantly compared to his older brother Bobby who had been an all time great player. I'm honestly a little worried for Dan Hurley and think he might need to take some time off. He has apparently gotten so used to rolling over everybody that he can't handle having a team that isn't better than everybody else. The UConn AD and the Big East commissioner better be talking about what to do about his situation because his behavior is inexcusable. If Hurley won't apologize or voluntarily take some time off, he should be suspended.

@travisclementsmith6949Күн бұрын
When I watched the Hunter ejection play, it looked like he tried to disguise the intention. He was upset, and rightly so, at getting undercut, probably could have avoided the foot to head contact and chose not to. I don't think he put extra force behind it, but was content to let the leg and foot appear to fall under its own weight. Is that worth a suspension? By the rules. I would say yes, but in the totality of what happened, I thought Brown got off lightly and a FG1 for Hunter would have been closer to just. I know that's not the way it works, but the refs let a lot of physical play go, especially directed at Hunter, then we act shocked when frustration finally boils over.

With regard to whether a Nate Oats team was capable of going toe to toe with Houston's physicality, I guess people have forgotten that 2 years ago the Miller/Clowney/Bediako team went into Houston and dominated them in the second half when Houston was #1 in the country. The idea that Alabama teams are soft and don't play defense is nonsense. Last season was the only year they've struggled defensively because they had small guards and no rim protector.

The Dayton mask guy actually hits the Iowa St guy deliberately in the face with swelling and blood, and its only a flagrant 1. But this player for Kansas actually gets kicked out for nothing 😂😂😂. Broome had three blocks but he altered about 20 shots. Quick hands. The only problem is he wants to shoot too many 3s. But he also wants a long career in the NBA so I understand.

Bottom line, Foster and Gillus are killing us. I’m sorry we’re too deep for that, let’s Evans and Harris get some run. Can’t be no worst than what we’re getting from Foster and Gillus. Foster look shaky man, and I like the kid but you can’t start at point guard and have no assist in the last two games. He’s not scoring either, and Mason can’t hit a shot

@ bro if Foster played well then why he play 15 minutes? He sat most of the second half. Sion could run point, with Kon taking care of most of the half court sets. I want them to play well, their just aren’t now. I definitely don’t want those kids to transfer
@Don-md6wnКүн бұрын
@@jakethethird1584 Foster apparently isn't playing well enough to be on the floor at crunch time. When your point guard is sitting late in close games, you have a problem. Maluach clogs up the paint offensively when he's on the floor, yet they have him out there while Flagg and Knueppel are trying to attack the basket late in games against collapsing defenses. It reminds me of the problems with spacing the Zion/Barrett/Reddish team had because they had no reliable outside shooting. They have got to create more spacing and they need somebody other than Flagg or Knueppel being the primary ball handler late in games.

Time for Duke to worry. They now have a consistent track record of folding at key moments against the best competition. A lot of it is youth, but until they finally get it resolved, they're not a top team this season. They're just not.

Flagg is the real deal...next year especially if he doesnt go pro. However, when faced with older more experienced players, he struggles as he is still figuring things out.
