Eventually the old models will be unavailable so for new collectors, buying a couple packs now or one starter pack now and a newer one once they release isnt a bad idea at all. I mean once painted and on the table, the only noticeable difference will be poses.

Not that I've seen. It would be bizarre if they don't release a new core though. It still says FFG on it and almost none of the cardboard is legal.
