Mercer through the Briggs fight. You'll never convince me that that short rabbit punch that Briggs delivered to Ray's skull while perched over the ropes caused him to stay on the canvas for the count. Just ridiculous.

I think him being exhausted played a part in it.

What was that? Mercer has taken some of the biggest punches from some of the biggest punchers in the heavyweight division through the years without seemingly getting hurt or even getting close to knocked down, yet this half hearted punch from an off balanced Briggs put him down and out for the full count? Im not buying it. I think Mercer was tired of fighting PERIOD He was like "Im not winning and i am going to lose a decision plus i am tired of the boxing game. I need a rest f--- the boxing game. I AM DONE! SEE YAAA...✌.

This was an ancient Mercer deciding that he had taken enough power punches from Briggs for six consecutive rounds. He flopped to the canvas like a rag doll from two half hearted swats from a surprised looking Briggs, got counted out by the ref and then started chatting to all and sundry whist lying on the canvas. This was a dive pure and simple! Ray was a legitimate tough guy before being beaten up by Wlad Klitchko in 2002 where his once iron chin was cracked forever. The late Tommy Morrison must have enjoyed watching Mercer getting beaten up by Klitchko and Briggs before he passed away in 2013. After all, it was Mercer who first cracked Morrison's chin, took away his undefeated record and left him with a mountain to climb to rebuild his shattered career on that awful night in Atlantic city in October of 1991. However, as they say, boxing is not for the faint of heart but in the end, father time catches up with even the best of fighters!

Mercer was SO out of shape. He was in worse shape only when Klitchko knocked him tf out.
