DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is way better in all the ways. I have tested it side by side with iPhone 16 Pro in a different condition, with Hohem gimbal for iPhone and without it. Iphone has a great quality, but DJI OP3 can be used as a cinematic camera. I have multiple reviews on my channel.

@ I have compared ProRes with D-Log. I am not an expert in a video editing. You guys are doing amazing job! But my point is that even with the log format OP3 looks less pixelized. And in the low light, of course, the image is falling apart less, than on iPhone.

I think if mostly takes video go for OP3. If mainly take photos, any mobiles phone with decent photos quality will do. If seriously want better photos quality go for full frame camera. There no better camera or phone, only more suitable equipment base on one need.

Amazing review on the videocamera aspect. But, you are missing a key component where the iPhone blows away the OP3, which is in still camera photos. OP3's camera for stills is terrible. Video for video, OP3 wins hands down though.
@Bestravelvideo18 күн бұрын
Thanks again for providing the downloadable links for both camera samples so we can evaluate them. I still haven’t received my iPhone 16 Pro, I only own the Pocket 3 for now. To my eyes, based on your iPhone samples, there can never be a clear winner as we all have different needs from our devices, that’s why I intend to use both, depending on the scenario. I will mostly use these two devices for my YT channel and stock footage for various agencies. For commissioned works I will still mostly rely on my Sony mirrorless. Having also looked at the Sony A 6700 vs iPhone video, the Sony seems to have more video noise but a sharper (not over-sharpened) image and better quality, compared to the iPhone. Back to the iPhone vs Pocket 3, the iPhone (in the interior shot Log scenario) clearly has worse quality and more video noise and artefacts, compared to Pocket 3. Therefore for low light shots, the Pocket 3 is a winner. Then, being an ex-Broadcast TV video editor myself, if you are using audio, the iPhone might be a pain to synchronize, as (like all other mobile phones) it records in a frame range that always varies, compared to the always fixed frame rate of the Pocket 3. I will use the iPhone in Log for still video or panning shots. I use the Pocket 3 for walking and low-light shots. The iPhone (without a mobile gimbal) may produce jitter when walking, even in good light, while the Pocket 3 will not. On the other hand, the 10-bit 4:2:2 Log and higher bitrate of the iPhone will give better overall quality compared to the 10-bit 4:2:0 lower bitrate of the Pocket 3. That’s why I said I intend to use both. Finally, a tip for Pocket 3 users: The Osmo might shoot low-resolution photos but it still is an 1” sensor. So, shoot RAW and then enhance the resolution, using Photoshop!
@linda_lawson13 күн бұрын
That was a perfect summation.
@butterKombucha17 күн бұрын
The two uses are completely different, but the gimbal functionality of the Pocket3 and the feeling from the 1-inch sensor still seem to be difficult for the iPhone to keep up with.

What about photos? Can OP3 match iphone 16 pro?
@gordon398821 күн бұрын
I just find that often an iPhone video or photo (less so) looks a bit artificial, whereas a camera like OP3 tends to be more realistic. If doing a simple talking head video who really cares. I have had quite a few photos and videos I’ve used off an iPhone (not 16, but increase seems incremental to me) simply because it was easy to pull out and use…hard to beat that, but if I want the best a camera almost always can be better, but takes more to set up and you will pay a lot more in most cases. The OP3 seems like a great video tool, but I really dislike the form factor. I’ve used a friends and just simply dislike ‘filming’ on a stick; but it works so well! Most folks would be happy with either (or an earlier version of the iPhone) for most uses. So well covered here!

Pocketfan since version 1. I predict the Dji Pocket will make a big impact on the camera market. Its the first version which delivers a 70-80% quality of a dslm. Which often is enough to replace it. Since the Pocket 3 a lot of my gear stays at home. This will be a shift in how people use cameras.

You know, I appreciate the time and effort you put into getting that review checked mark. Based on a magazine-style approach its the perfect video😅. But I think what viewers really want is an experience based on different scenarios and a comparison video that clearly shows which camera does what. That way, it feels less like advertising! If I were to make an AI video, it would look exactly like this! 😂 Instead of quickly saying the words and showing small clips next to each other, you'd really need to show full screen and in-depth

At 17:45 you mentioned viewing the iPhone footage with your Apple Watch. I’ve tried this many times and it’s really finicky because the dial on the watch also acts as the zoom. If you leave the camera monitor app on your watch it will also close the camera app on the phone. I don’t recommend it

Hi I have a question I need a new camera and I’m trying to decide between the Sony a6700 and the Fujifilm X-H2 I seriously love the Fujifilm look, quality and everything about that camera my only concern is the auto focus I’m seeing so many bad things about it I saw a video saying it’s worse than my current a6000 I’m fine with changing my ecosystem because currently I only have the two kit lenses and I’m gonna buy new lenses if I get the a6700 too so it’s fine with me switching to Fujifilm I do about 60 to 70% photography and 30 to 40% Videography My work is semi professional for photography I do Wildlife, Landscape, Portrait, Everyday Street Photography, Astrophotography, Macro, Plants And want to try Plane Spotting and Car Photography then for videography i will be doing Commercials, Short Films, Trailers, concert videography, Vlogging, Social Media also none of this is fully professional client work This is more like a semi professional type of thing. I love both of these cameras, but I really want the Fujifilm I don’t care as long as it’s reliable autofocus as long as it can match my A6000 specially in video subject tracking I’m fine I’ll deal with it because I love everything else about that camera too much but if the autofocus is worse than the a6000 then I’ll have to go to my second option the a6700 which is fine cause I love that camera too, and I seriously love the auto framing in video but still the quality and the Fujifilm look😭

I notice that (ironically) the iPhone can have stronger bokeh when you're holding both at an arm's length, which is because the 1x camera framing is much tighter compared to the Osmo. However, to match the framing (due to the huge difference in focal length) you must go physically closer with the Osmo, and THEN I'm assuming the Osmo is going to have stronger bokeh? It's a bit hard to tell by the shots in this video.
