This very boss fight in the GBA is what placed the final nail on the coffin to make me decide on finally playing this game. I have no regrets. It quickly became one of my favorite games ever since 2010. I'm replaying it yet again and I'm about to finish it tomorrow again. 😂 And of course, having played this 3DS remake and the original one, I can safely say that both versions are equally amazing.

They made this boss fight easier in the remake. At the start of cackaletta In the original you had to perfectly survive a barrage of attacks first before you could heal, and cackaletta would gain attacks and evolve to have longer or more devastating versions of attacks. It was a very difficult boss to say the least

Spooky Boi649 true, but any person playing through this game for the first time would never have 120 speed, plus there’s no way they could have learned the advanced bros attacks without searching it up, I didn’t know how to do advanced attacks till my second playthrough and I had to look it up and practice the entire game just to hit them consistently. With the new version, I didn’t see cackalettas attacks get any harder than when they are first used, which doesn’t happen in the GBA version.

I'm sorry but I just cannot like this version of the final battle against Cackletta's spirit, this looks so watered down. For one, they took the guitars out from the music, making it less aggressive/adrenaline inducing. Secondly, Cackletta's appearance was objectively far more menacing (her torso was bigger, her head wasn't disproportionately bigger than her body *like in this version*, her hands weren't colored distinctively from one another to represent fire and electricity, etc). And last but not least, the overall stage also looks noticeably different, and in a bad way. In the GBA og, the stage looked exactly like the battle was taking place in hell itself. Here they took the imagery out and replaced for a generic looking castle roof :/

How you came to conclude something so nonsensical just cause "Oh there's fire below the stage, so it's still in hell" when it's even barely noticeable and then calling it "enhanced" while being oblivious of everything else is just foolish. Just search for M&L cackletta's spirit on youtube to get a better view of them both and then compare them. It's not even a matter of nostalgia, but bad art direction. They took a intense final boss battle and made it friendlier for much younger audiences.
