Dude.... I have had final cut for about 3 and a half years. I got it on offer during Lockdown and have created my showreels, music videos, and inshow videos for corporate and cruise ship visuals. I would say they're better than amatuer... But, no more than that. After watching your video, I realise I know NOTHING about shortcuts and the capabilities of Final Cut. Thank you for these vids (and for your SABER title)... I will beat myself with a pain stick for all the wasted hours of my life, manual croping transitions, hitting Command Z because of a mistake i made 60 edits ago a, cross dissolving audio and losing my eyesight whilst straining to look at minute clips. Then probably a little cry. You the man. Thank you

Hi Dylan. I have been laboring on Adobe Pro and have had modest success with Adobe Rush. Also, Davinci Resolve is supposed to be very powerful. I have not delved into it yet and after watching your video, I am wondering if I should even bother. Not only does Final Cut seem extremely intuitive as most Apple products do but your delivery and attention to detail along with your energy is contagious. Thank you so much!!!

Great video Dylan. As a beginner I have messed up my audio track with (maybe Edit points). The easiest way for me to fix it was to re-import a new audio track, which I have done, but how do I mute the previous audio track? It appears the CMD's have changed for this!

I'm a windows guy myself but use a mac mini for music on the side and am finally learning final cut. Great video, but I think something that should be pointed out that I noticed is that changing the Format when exporting also changes the file type. Video and Audio is .mov, Apple Devices is .m4v, etc. Really helpful video!

Hey Dylan, thanks for all the training, and keep up the good work. I have a question. Is there a way to rearrange the way that my plug-ins show up in the Titles? I want to rearrange my Motion VFX plug-ins so that the ones I use all the time will be on top, and maybe rearrange all of the ones I use all the time to be on top. I think I can rename them, but I don't want to break anything, or set off any alarms, as if I am tampering with the plug-ins. Thanks for your help.

Excellent and comprehensive video though it left me breathless . . . I don't know about you! I just about managed to keep up with it but I have been using FCP X since its inception in 2011. Can I ask a grading q? My footage from R5C comes in as MXF files which are LOADS nicer than the standard .MOVs I get from my 5Div. I am used to being able to easily match grades in Premiere and also use FilmConvert but wondering whether there's another way as playing aorund with the colour effects doesn't get it close. On the plus, I can't believe how gorgeous the R5C footage looks in FCP off the bat!

Great tutorial. If you still answer on this channel, can you help with the following: no matter what I try - optimized files, proxies - neither clips from the browser nor the timeline will show in the Viewer. Looking for a workaround, I happened to click on the down arrow to the right of the Library / Project name right under the Viewer and selected Reveal Project in Browser. The timeline suddenly appears in the Viewer for half a second, then vanishes and the Viewer goes back to its dark background. Mac OS: Sequoia, FCP 10.8.1. Thanks.

This is absolutely infuriating! 1) I have created a file in the Library called: Date Virginia City 2) In the box where you get it to find search for your videos I get Virginia City again. 3) Now when I highlight that one in the 2nd window I get the window on the far right now asking for a Title, Description, Creator, tags and so on. So, after repeating a name two times already I have to do it a 3rd time? What is the malfunction? Do I need to make a whole new Library all over again every time I want to start a new project? What is happening here?
@TheFinalCutBro13 күн бұрын
No need to fill those out! Those serve as extra data in case you are working on a high level project, likely as an assistant editor. There’s a lot of high level features in FCP, but no need to touch them if they aren’t useful to you. The only naming you will need to do is the library and each project/timeline. All the other stuff is extra. Hope that helps!

hello👋 i have learned about keyframing now (3 days into owning this software), so i can do the 'animated' zoom, the exposure drop keyframing, x/y/z positional keyframing and other basics like this - but is there a way to exponentially/logarithmically/other waveform curve apply some type of 'modulation' to a keyframing effect? so like - 'as video progresses each second, increase the x position by twice as many units as the previous transition' - is this possible with final cut?
@miku..0027 ай бұрын
*twice as many units (so for like x/y/z position, unit would just be numbers), as the previous second in which the same effect was applied, and then keep doing this each second; the other channel ghosted all my questions so i am setting up my video editing home base here haha

Help! I need your help Final Cut bro! I have a damaged library I looked all over the internet and I can’t find a solution and I can’t find the original media files to put back on there but it’s other projects on there as well how can I fix I need to turn in this project tomorrow !
@TheFinalCutBro10 ай бұрын
Final Cut Pro regularly makes backups of your projects. You can find those in Movies > Final Cut Backups. You might lose a small amount of progress, but that’s much better than losing everything! If you’re missing media, you might want to check that all your hard drives are properly connected. You can find the file path of a missing file by selecting your project, then going up to File > Relink > Original Media. Then clicking on the clips that are missing will tell you where they were originally at the bottom of the window.
@kamkhillzit10 ай бұрын
First off thank you for the response! Ive checked the usual suspects but to no avail. It's the actual library that's damaged and I think it's due to the hard drive not copying correctly. It shows the 600gb library file but it jus keeps giving me the error' 😒 @@TheFinalCutBro
