My god, you have the best Motion tutorials on the internet, period. Thank you so much for creating them. Even though I have Adobe After Effects, I would much rather use Motion since I'm a FCPX user and Motion is a lot more optimized for macOS. Before you came around there were barely any recent, good tutorials for it. PLEASE continue making Motion tutorials!

But if I decide Im not happy with it and go back to the project to make alterations and then export it out again the changes I made are unchanged and the only way I can fix it is to duplicate the project and delete the original and then export it again and then the changes have been made.. I know it sounds strange and any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Import as Image Sequence is more for use with 3D animated content. When you export from say Blender you would export as an image sequence of your timeline. This would spit out all the frames as images into a specified folder. The reason is due to computers crashing mid-render. Rendering 3D can take hours, days, or even longer. With an image sequence you could start the render off where the computer crashed with minimal loss of time. There's nothing like rendering to a video format only to get to the last second and the computer crashed corrupting the video file...ugh

Can I use the time laps feature for stop motion?
@benwhite40112 жыл бұрын
Hey dude appreciate the video but, constructive criticism: this would have been a lot easier to follow if you had started with a project in final cut pro, then gone through some features in Motion to add to your video. You kind of just ran through naming all of the functions. I could go and read that if I wanted, what would be more helpful is to see when and where to use each of these functions. There's no frame of reference. You start drawing stars and I'm like I don't get it, is this an animation on a black background that he's going to put into a video as a cutaway, or is he going to overlay it, or use video in video, what is this for and when and how would I use it? Also, the 'um's every other sentence made the video difficult to listen to. Why don't you cut them out? Just detach audio on final cut pro, cut the audio of you saying um and delete it. Then maybe adjust the video footage so there's not too much dead air. Otherwise useful info, cheers again.
@TheFinalCutBro2 жыл бұрын
Appreciate all the constructive criticism! I agree. You are 100% correct with all your points. But, this was created when I was still very very new to creating tutorials on KZbin and I had a ton to learn (still do!) If you watch my more recent tutorials, you will notice that pretty much all of these points have been addressed. It just took some time to figure out my pacing for KZbin! Appreciate you watching and giving genuine constructive criticism!

Very helpful,thank you so much)I was wondering when you save text with background to Final Cut Pro ,it has those Published Parameters I can not figure out how to move text and background together by click and move,I can only move them when I change px in published parameters, it really bother me when I do a lot of editing haha
@TheFinalCutBro3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! -- I'll do my best to explain a potential solution over a comment. But I am definitely going to be doing a future tutorial on this very thing. Unfortunately this won't be as detailed as I would want it to be! So when you're in Motion, select your background. Go over to the properties on the left side. In the position properties, right next to where you can add a keyframe, you should see a small down arrow (when you mouse over it). Click that and go down to "Add Parameter Behavior" then select the "Link" behavior. Now drag your text into the "Source Object" box. You will notice the background moves perfectly with the text now. You can offset the background's position by using the offset properties at the bottom of the link parameters. Or you can change the anchor point on your background, and that will have the same effect. When you publish your project to FCP, you should see the background element moving with the text. Hope that helps you! Feel free to reach out if you have any problems.

@TheFinalCutBro3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! The blank projects can easily be used to create VFX or 1-off animations you don't intend on using over and over. You would simply just build out the project, and then export a video of the project for final cut pro (or whichever editing software!). The great thing is, you can easily convert the project over to a title/generator/plugin etc. if you want to down the road!
