Great review! Just got the variant 3 with night sights about a month ago after getting rid of my glock 27. The glock was a great ccw size and I had many holsters for it but the .40 in a sub compact just wasn't fun to shoot as it had a little bite. I love everything about the p30 sk and it's a great shooter. It's seems a little chunkier than the glock ,but it's the most comfortable subcompact I have ever fired personally. With the glock I never got quite comfortable carrying with a round in the chamber with its light trigger pull. With the Hk it's a da/sa variant so the first trigger pull is very heavy and subsequent rounds are similar to the glock in single action. I'm definitely a new Hk fan!

I have a major HK bug. Love the paddle mag release. Both the P30SK and the VP9SK are super accurate pistols. The Viridian C5L laser/light fits perfectly on these SK versions. My next passion is the HK 45C....but they are nowhere to be found these days. Great review.... always look forward to the “Hey there, Folks...Thanks for checkin’ in!”...👍
@5jjt4 жыл бұрын
The slide release in the right side is made of polymer, or plastic; Does anyone think they should have used metal instead? I ask because it's a lengthy item and can act as a lever if something got stuck underneath it, thus making it likely to break. I'm surprised HK chose plastic here.

Congrats Dan, you got the exact same model I have. I've only carried mine a couple of times so far. It's going to take a minute for me to get used to carrying it because it's a lot wider than my Sig P238 and it digs in sometimes in appendix carry.

I just got my p30sk and i am loving it. I am a new shooter, been to the range once with my brother and found i really love it so i went ahead and looked at pistols and decided on the SK and so glad i did. It is shooting wonderfully for me, only been to the range 5 times so far with it and its really on target with where i am aiming (keeping in mind i am new to shooting). I even decided to take my carry test and passed with flying colors, had 3 low shots but everything else was center. 20 rounds fired needed to keep 15 on target and managed to keep all 20 with good shots. Great review though, ty!

@teller1290 Жыл бұрын
@@MTBAviator I just got mine today and wondered if you knew answer to a few questions: 1) it says sites should be altered by a "certified H&K technician." I guess that doesn't mean everything has to get sent to Columbus, GA. I haven't even fired it yet but just curious, since I couldn't find such a list anywhere. 2) I thought it strange that manual, at top of p.30, says to "re-apply lubricant periodically during firing as it burns off from the heat." I've never seen such advice and I've owned a few pistols. 3) mine came with pinky drop 10-rd mag and another mag that was a full extension 13-rd one. There seems to be a flat-bottomed mag. I guess you have to order that special? 4). Have you done the "function check" on p.15,16? On items #11,12, I'm not getting any different push on the hammer than at item #7. How about you? Looks like a sweet piece and I'm looking forward to running a couple hundred thru my P30sk soon.
@MTBAviator Жыл бұрын
@@teller1290 Hi Teller. I have a few HK pistols. 1) I would send it to Columbus if you want any work on it as not to void the warranty and HK has a variety of good sight options.

@@teller1290 2) I would just lubricate components as needed when cleaning. 3) Mine came with two 10-round mags… a flat-bottom and a pinky. I replaced the flat-bottom plate with a pinky plate. A quick fix with a part from their website store.

Regarding price. Most the people I know end up modifying their Glocks. Stipple, triggers, undercuts on trigger guard and certainly the sights. When all is said done...they typically have more in their Glock than this price tag on this P30sk, which is ready to go out of the box. One reason why I'm considering this gun for carry. I'm not wealthy, I know what I've done to my G17 over time. How easy is this gun to be a "self armorer"?
