The scene where her mother sang this to her, I cry so much. Since I’m the oldest, I make my younger siblings sleep by singing to them. It’s funny sometimes because I do it to my little brother now and not to my 14 year olds twins bc I thought they might not want to hear it anymore. Today I was getting ready for my little brother to sleep then all of them came inside so I can make them fall asleep. I sang this specific song for the first time in awhile, both of the twins looked at me and just smiled then layer their heads on my shoulders while I had the little one in my arms. I just posted something similar up there about my cat... he was my best bud and my little sidekick. Watching him die and singing him one of the Marceline songs I always used to sing to him his whole life (he died on his sixth birthday) was one of the most painful experiences of my life. It's not stupid at all to say that you had a connection with your cat. Any two living things can have a lifetime of love and memories to share.

You know when you really hurt that much, you go deeper with a different meaning that the song pertaining. I listen to this song when I was young innocent kid back then, I really enjoyed this song, and I usually sang along, like for me, it's just a lullaby. But now, Every lyrics means deeper and different than before. Like it's about grief, losing someone, and losing ourselves. You lose someone-they close their doors for you. You got in a deep grief, but You stayed in the position where they left you, hoping and waiting for them to open that door and let you in. Because you call it a home. Time passes, you are still there patiently waiting for them to open the door, even if it's cold, and dark. But as time passes by, grief starts consuming you and eventually change you. And when the time they finally open the door, you already lost your color, and the sparks in your eyes, You lose yourself in the process of waiting for someone to save you in the tide. It's really indeed changes us when we choose to stay, waiting for someone to save us, instead of saving ourselves and moving forward. P.s Thank you for reading, it's kinda long but, It's story time. for me it's about... When we're little, we have all sorts of toys that we love more than life itself. We take them everywhere, but as time goes on we slowly lose our connection to a toy, maybe move on to another. Perhaps we forget one outside in the garden after becoming infatuated with a new one. Eventually though, we stop playing with toys altogether. We start finding the happiness and comfort that we found in those toys elsewhere, but even then the happiness from whatever we found will wane and be discarded as we find something else Nothing lasts forever. It's a cycle that we go through throughout our lives until we die. But every time, whatever we find feels like the most important thing in the world for a bit, until the high comes down and it's forgotten. Going to your childhood home and seeing a toy you used to love half buried reminds you of everything you forgot, just because it stopped being relevant anymore, and how far you've come in life since then. It reminds me of how little time is left and how lonely it is trying to chase those things that make me happy

I'm 20 years old, and I never had a single actual friend in my life. I live in England with my mom, away from my family what is filled with toxic people. Mum loves me, but she can't help me with this feeling. I couldn't stay happy for long periods of time in this year, and it was hard to be happy for years now. But in this year, something became truly different. It's an up and down roller coaster all the time. Happy a few days, then break down crying not much later. I can barely progress like this. 2 weeks ago, mum helped me to get in contact with Talking Change. After doing their tests, they gave me the diagnosis yesterday that I have mild-severe depression and I also have anxiety, but that is for years now. I talked with mum yesterday about this, and she told me that she had been suspecting this for a few weeks now, and she thinks it started this year. I never thought that I would have actual depression. And honestly... lying in my bed, listening to this song alone, I realise that this is true. I was totally fine 3 days ago, and now I'm crying again. I just wanted to share this with someone. I just wanted to be seen with this problem a littlebit. I didn't want to complain. Often, the songs and videos like this are the only things what are giving me some sort of affection or fondness feeling. I hope I'm not alone with this, and that whoever feels similarly, they get better too. I'll soon have an appointment with the Talking Change, so I can get help. Here's a little story I made based on this song: The story is about a guy who can't move on from past friends who left him, so he stays on the old house they all used to live in. The house eventually starts to fall down until it's basically ruins, yet he's still sitting there, waiting for those friends to come by. His hair grows long, his clothing becomes small, he starts catching dust. Eventually until he hears someone enter the ruins by the creeks of the wooden floor, the person singing this song, and he simply joins them. When he goes to see who it is, it's those same friends who moved on, while he didn't. They came back for things they left there ages ago, not knowing he was there. When they find him, they are shocked to see how much his appearance has changed, but not his personality. However, one of them gets angry at him for not being able to move on, while the other becomes disappointed, they leave him there again, where he still waits for them to come back. It's based on personal experience Edit: I'm aware this sounds like Spinel's story from Steven Universe! I didn't realize it at the time of writing this haha

To me, this reminds me of the basket ball that was left in our backyard for so many years. All the color faded out of it from the sun and the bottom was the same, just covered in moss. This makes me miss my childhood personality. Where did it go? I'm 22 and so serious and hard on myself, yet when I was 2 I would smile and laugh so easily at the simplest of things. To get a tiny ounce of that happiness takes so much hard work and success today. Where did it go? What have I done or thought to cause this? Why have I become so serious and emotionless? It's so hard to avoid this and look forward. I'm sorry for my rant, I just needed to get this out. I hope whoever reads this is doing better. this song makes me remember my grandparent's house where I used to live when I was a kid. When my grandfather passed away, I visit my grandma a few years later, and his room was full of our memories. His Nokia Phone I taught him how to use it, I remember I took a kind of "selfie" of me and him to put it on the phone's wallpaper and, you know what? Every time he used his phone, he was looking at me, missing me, loving me and since I was 5 years old I couldn't see him again, just by video calls and... This song represents one part of the grieving and healing process in this chapter of my life. This song hits hard like that. You're at the point where you're finally able to pick yourself back up from a bad place. However, the feeling is a bit sad and bittersweet because even though you're finally in a better spot and moving on from some low point, some of the loved ones who supported you aren't there to celebrate or be with you when you're finally available. Or the people in your life who you were wishing the best for in life, but had life cut short for them. Well, that is how it is for me. The pandemic and all the losses involved with it.... man...I'll carry on for them, though.
