Fish13, I don't know where you are from, I just ran into your videos so still have to do a proper checking out, but your way of thinking and handling the world around you and your interaction with your son is balm to my soul. 최근 본 캠핑 영상 중 젤 기억에 남네요. 장비도 멋있고 특히 아들과의 캠핑은 어느 누구도 부럽지 않은 순간이네요. 저도 딸 데리고 따라하고 싶어지는 영상이네요.

In USA most people want their house in a van, in Europe we are more into having a boat on wheels, we never think it could just be a tent. It is not an anormal approach, it's a brillant one ! I was all into replacing bed by a hammock system, to save a lot of weight without any compromise on comfort (with good under-quilts it is possible to warmly sleep despite pretty low temperature, and when weather is hot it is easy to have a fresh bedding). I also was thinking about replacing bench seats with kind of hammocks to save more weight. But having textile storage is next level ! Thanks a lot for sharing !

In the most van conversion video, people make furnitures always. Furniture, furniture, furniture.... They are obsessed by furniture. We don't need no furniture at all in a car camping. We don't need to build anything at all. No furniture gives more space. Just install some hooks at the corners and use ratchet system to tie down your luggage. That's it.

Condensation is a concern if water hits parts that may degrade. There's no wood, no insulation, nothing may rot. Only trouble could be rust, but the van is brand new and fairly protected by paints.

@Siddharth Hi. To get a proper insulation from wood you would need too much thickness, plus it would need quite a good waterproof treatment, and it would weight quite a lot. The only wood that makes a good temperature protection is cork, but as an insulator it is mostly a phase change reflector, witch means it is pretty good against outside heat, but not outside cold. So if you want to insulate against cold you'll need an other layer. That's why people using projected cork add a second layer of wool / foam etc. Wood is only involved for structural purpose (fixing furniture) and/or esthetic. If you want to get a good insulation against cold, heat, and sound, very long lasting and mold proof, it is unfortunate but no natural solution is as good as something like Armaflex.

@Siddharth Happy if I can help :) Polystyrene is for sure to avoid as it is fire sensitive, and also pretty toxic to produce and impossible to recycle. If you go for a petrochemical solution you should go for the best ratio benefit/loss to be sure to be happy with it an not have to throw it away to get later something better. I don't know thermocol, but it looks pretty similar to polystyrene. To solve the condensation issue you need... 1- To glue insulation around every single thermic bridge caused by the body work as water will form on every part with high thermic difference, here the body work of the van. What you'll apply to the body will have to be sealed, for instance Armaflex needs a specific tape to join every cuts together so humidity never gets in contact with the body through the insulation. 2- To have a pretty well designed ventilation system to extract atmospheric humidity as well as you can. Weight is very important as it will greatly impact your van drivability and its fuel consumption. And it is pretty important to focus on it as we tend to put a lot of heavy stuffs into our builds. Witch is why solutions like having hammocks instead of beds are pretty awesome (plus very comfortable).

인상깊게 봤습니다 .저희는 곧 퇴직하고 한국으로 1년정도 장기 여행계획중이라 아주오랫동안 캠핑카 구매를 고민중인데, 보니까 한국캠핑카가 고장이많이 나는것 같더라고요, 미국보다 비싸기도 하고요 (1년만 쓰기엔 가격이 만만치 않네요) AS 받을려고 시간낭비하는것도 싫고 해서 고민이 한층 많아지고 있는데 그냥 간단하게 미니멀한 방법도 생각하고있는중에 이 유투브를 보게되었는데 아이디어가 괞잖아보이네요 베이스차가 화물벤으로 보이는데(아닐수도 있겠네요 계속보고있은까) 짐칸막이 제거할려면 허가? 신고를 해야하나는지? 궁금하네요 구독하고 앞으로 자주보게될거 같네요 항상 즐캠 하시길
