A new video from The Fisher is just what I needed to start my vacation! So many awesome finds! Wow!
@haydendegrow9452 ай бұрын
Dude, once again a watery treasure trove! And you were right, that gear you found at 6:02 came from the rotator part of the railroad bridge! See, that bridge is a former swing bridge that rotated around that round middle pier. If you look at it, there is a massive gear around the middle of it, and the piece you caught moved that massive gear! And that thing you found at 10:45 is a safety valve from a locomotive! You only find those after a loco has exceeded sae preesure limits and vented itself. The valves sometimes are useless afterwards so you found one that was heroically sacrificed! And that rail you found with it is a check-rail, a guide to keep trains aligned to the bridge. Super cool indeed!

Hi Tyler looks like a nice day you had when you made this trip magnet fishing maybe you could use that storage compartment to keep some stuff on board so you don't forget but it's ok anyway because we love spending time on the river with you anyway we can get there buddy thanks again for another great video 😁🌄

Ok Tyler, I'm gonna "mom" you for a sec... extra duct tape and gloves left on the boat for the future please. It's really gonna suck if you hurt your hands or something breaks. ❤ That being said, nice finds today! 😊
@SassyKat78952 ай бұрын
I am going to grandma you for a. Minute as well. You need to make sure you have an emergency kit on board; to include what @stacybrwneyes said extra duct tape and extra gloves 🧤. Duct tape fixes just about anything and everything. You should make sure make sure you are wearing gloves every time you go out.

What a great magnet fishing day! Tons of interesting finds.
@timwilcoxsr27122 ай бұрын
That does look like it could be a wheel from an old RR Cart. That is indeed a meat hook. The part with all the holes, could that of been a Step that maybe broke the corner off ?? I hope you took more than just the RR Spikes and Plates. Looked like several pieces of RR Rail and those parts that bolted the rails together. Back in the day, rails were bolted together, now they are welded. That big chain link looking piece I believe is the lock that slide up and down on the piece that connected 2 rail cars. I think those big staples were used for logging on the river.

The heavy item at 9:38 is called a 'rail joint bar'. Two rails are joined together end-to-end with this bolted to span between them. Adds stability to the 'ends' of adjacent rail sections.

A lot of builders plate are worth a few hundred dollars each. Better than average plates (or plaques as they are sometimes called) can be worth between $1,000 and $3,000. The very rarest locomotive plates can sell for in excess of $3,000.

Looks like you found another logging location! All those staples, the chain links, old saw blades, and the "wheels" point to one of those. Staples to drive into the logs like the "log dogs" you found elsewhere. Chains the bind the rafts. And those single "wheels" with the flat rims and the hole or shaft through the center - - those were often used to transfer power from overhead shafts that were powered by a central engine (often steam). The wheels had leather belts that ran down to the equipment on the floor and transferred power from the spinning shafts overhead. They would use those to spin saws and other tools for working the lumber. Those were also used for all sorts of machine shops before electricity made it easier to put motors directly on each tool.
