Seemed like a great group of guys to meet on the river, getting me excited to skip work and go fish

Oh yeah, most guys I see on the river are pretty friendly. Always nice to stay friendly and helpful. Learn and teach depending on the company.

Thanks for the video! I live 10 mins from that spot. What is your rod and reel setup? Wondering about makes and models. Thanks in advance!

Wow, it must be nice to live at the river. It takes me 15 minutes just to walk to the spot from where I park. Plus a 1 hour 15 minute drive. I used a Berkley 8 foot 6 lighting rod. A lot shorter than what most guys use but I love it because it is so light and gets the job done. I have on me of the bass pro shop reels on it. Can't recall which one it is. Just search bass pro for their reels, and it's the only white one.

Get Stretchy while fishing bait thread Small spool to secure the Roe. It would definitely hold Roe on hook and give you multiple chances. Plus reduce wastage every cast. I have fished the vedder canal 2010 t0 2018 as i moved r Form BC. Enjoy.
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures Ай бұрын
@sar9907 that is not necessary since I use egg loop Knot to secure bait. Thanks for watching

Nice video. What reel do you use and would you recommend them? Thanks
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures Ай бұрын
I just purchase whatever reasonably priced bait casting reel I can find at Cabelas or bass pro shop. Something in the 100 to 200 dollar range usually. I don't like spending a lot of money on them since I'm hard on gear.

Great video. Thank you for sharing. How heavy is your float and egg sinker you were using here??
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures Ай бұрын
@jimmyk3262 usually like 20 to 25 gram float and I balance it with whatever size egg sinker floats It so just the orange top is showing. Usually 3/4 ounce weight I believe.
@ChipDarby13

Looks like fun, especially the sunny day😊 What size float and weight are you using?
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures Ай бұрын
Small float I think like 25 gram with a 3/4 ounce sliding egg sinker probably. I tape the weight to the float and put it in water to see if I have the right weight to float ratio. You want it mostly sunk.

Question for ya! Do you see the bobber go down when you get the fish or do you feel it in the rod???
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures Ай бұрын
100% visual. I see the float go down when a fish bites. Depending on how the float goes down you can even decipher if it was a bite or a snag. I described that in the Video. The only time I feel a bite is if I look away and not paying attention and the fish holds onto it and actually pulls the line. Happens once in a while. Usually don't hook those ones though. Flossers are feeling the line for changes in tension I believe I wouldn't know since I don't think flossing is of any interest to me.

man fishings weird, I do the same technique, been out so many times to the vedder but never get bites. i know im not hitting bottom. in the same area as this video too. makes me wonder what the fishing gods have against me
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures Ай бұрын
A lot of time it is timing. Maybe the fish are there, maybe they aren't. Maybe it's the bait. I'll tell you what I do know. Someone who thinks they're doing the same thing as me, bit never gets bites.... is likely missing some crucial points to the technique. Or you would be getting bites as well. So keep trying and adjusting things. Best of luck.

Yes, while they are biting or not they are hooking fish somewhere... head, back, belly, tail... anywhere and everywhere.
