This is heresy. This part of the film is in black and white, and it's not for nothing.
@Peter-z9t2 ай бұрын
@@Pierrick13004 Yes, the movie's creators purposely filmed the opening and closing scenes in black and white to emphasize the simpler, less colorful aspect of Dorothy's life in rural Kansas. Thus, her yearning for a more colorful life "over the rainbow." Colorizing this opening scene defeats the point of contrasting Kansas with Munchkinland and Oz. Doing so disrespectfully disregards the creators' intent and vision.

So sad to know that by this stage, she was already heavily addicted to pills. @thefiyoumovies2 жыл бұрын
deoldify would work not too bad, like other techniques the problem comes from us not from the softwares... I correct my video in black and white before the colorization. it is necessary a big variety of gray, but also intense blacks and especially to preserve the faces slightly gray, if not it will not take the orange pinkish tint. then I make an upscaling in 1080p, and I colorize. I process in pixel enhancement at 133.3% so 1440p, then I make a neutral pass at 100% for face recovery, so still in 1440p, then a final pass at 200% so 2880p or 5K with a treatment to soften the artifacts and I compile my images in MP4 . then in Adobe Premiere after synchronization with the sound track I correct the colors of each sequence or change of plan by playing on the lumetri.. many people think that I put the video in a software and that by magic it comes out finished! but it's often 3 or 4 days of work for 2 minutes...

"The Wizard of Oz", starring by Judy Garland in 1939 and based on the book by L Frank Baum in 1900. "Follow the yellow brick road" which may seem like a simple metaphor but it contains a relevant message. "Follow the yellow brick road" is an allegory of Faith on the path of life, with the message that on that journey there are many paths, but “only one” is colorful, bright and at the same time winding, and it leads us to our final destination, our heavenly home, scrutinizing with heart and wisdom, with effort and courage to move forward in a fallen world. As the ballad of the film The Wizard of Oz, winner of the Oscar for best original song by Harold Arlen, expresses: “Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high, there is a place with blue skies as we once dreamt which will come true”. 🌈

I honestly think that The Wizard of Oz would still have been a hit if the entire movie was in color. Ok, yes, "Kansas" was an old, dreary, dirty place, but I think it still would have appeared that way had the sepia-tone portions been in color also.
