I used to live in Huddersfield, and I miss Yorkshire. Some of the most beautiful countryside in the world. I’m American though and I wish more people in Huddersfield liked Americans - not everyone was like that, but I got my feelings hurt quite a few times. Matter of fact, I had to come back to the States because of it, and I didn’t want to. I must say that part really confused me, because I found the people of Yorkshire to be quite interesting and wonderful, and I tried never to take being there for granted. Hello from the States by the way. Beautiful work you’ve done.

Sad day that was, Last tiger bus I got was 1001 on the day they showed the team pennine vehicles and honestly loved it. Apart from a commander breaking down straight after but Yorkshire Tiger will be missed massively. From the days to the Barnsley depot and so on.

@@TheFlatCapBusDriver must be from another depot in Yorkshire that do runs to York. Yeah York Is gorgeous definitely will be a fabby day out for you & your family. I’m not a church ⛪️ gower but would definitely recommend a walk around the Minster as it’s beautiful inside & out. Great thing is it’s only around 3 hrs from Kirkcaldy my local town in Fife so not far at all Pal. Yeah I’m doing fine Pal I canny grumble Pal. 👍

Good luck at Arriva. I'll soon be doing my PCV training at Arriva's Ashington (Northumberland) depot and looking forward to it. I currently work behind the scenes fueling, shunting, etc and I can say from experience the Arriva lead drivers (controllers) are great lads who treat us subcontractors well and look after their drivers up here. The Arriva drivers we deal with every day are a great bunch and you can have a real laugh with them. Looking forward to being on the same team (albeit miles apart) and you can imagine the ribbing the Geordies at the training school will be giving me for my Yorkshire accent :)

Sad to see YT go but going by the look and state of the fleet, you're absolutely right - it desperately needs investment! The first bus you had looked pretty knackered and what a way to end your working life with bus problems. I'm quite lucky as I live around the corner from my local bus depot and the buses are years old but still going strong with a few break down and one of the buses actually caught fire recently while in service but thankfully the driver and passengers got off safely and got a different bus to their destination

This is happening down in Brighton with bus company: The big lemon it’s a bit like Yorkshire tiger but in Brighton and it’s more eco friendly but the contract might be changing from the council to maybe compass bus or other companies (I don’t know who is in the position for the big lemon company) but it’s sad if the council lose the contract
