What’s wild is that Devante swing from Jodeci took smk under his wing when Jodeci was signing Ginuwine, Timberland, Sista, Playa, sugah, Magoo and everyone else. Dude is hugest reason why timberland’s production is talented how it’s been through his years. Heavy salute to SMK‼️🙏🏾💪🏾

crazy how far back you go when you want to find out where todays underground originated from. i didnt know this dude prod. Pain for 2Pac til today. The sound we have today is so disconnected from its roots its fucked up. SMK influenced Timbaland & Devante Swing that helped make all those RnB hits of the 90s. This sound would have taken over sooner but so many things went wrong with industry shit ppl getting shit deals & rappers/singers dying. Theres so many people i never heard of but their influence is clear just like today.

@K1LLJOY818 You are right and people just stole our dances and music and claimed it as their own. At least Mc Hammer did say he got he dance from Memphis but BONE Thugs and Harmony ripped Triple Six Mafia style and took it nation wide. Those dudes was just happy with selling mix tapes at stereo one and missed a great opportunity.

Twista was the first triple time artist period, but his production was east coast acid jazz. Get it right. Listen to the difference to the rhymes here and Tongue Twista, straight lyrics and delivery. Production that influenced Devante, Timbaland, and Three Six is all due to these guys. Not the rap flows though. Nice try.

@ubreakubuy3 жыл бұрын
@@SmashinAdams Note the difference between early east coast fast rappers and how they go in and out of the triplet. Then notice that after Tongue Twista, we got a whole new world of rappers that used the triplet as their main style instead of on one record only. Let's not forget that NY used to add syllables as filler (adding -iggetty into words, rolling the r instead of landing the R etc). I am referring to artists such as Twista, Tech N9ne, King Iso, Twisted Insane, Eminem, Joyner Lucas, Logic, Token, JID and so on. Artists that dont do the stutter and stop, repetitive patterns that most triplet flow rappers have (Migos). Instead these rappers keep it flowing and constantly increase the syllables with flow switch ups all the way through. These rappers are the future now, and the game will be catching up later, the way it's taken everyone this long to catch up to simple triplet flows.
