HUGE THANKS to ExpressVPN for offering all Food Ranger viewers 3 months free and 49% off their yearly package using this link: ExpressVPN.com/Thefoodranger . Travelers need ExpressVPN to stay safe online and to unblock any site. I personally use it for Netflix, even while at home in Canada, but also while traveling to unblock content and episodes that are geoblocked, and I also use it for security, because airport wifi and hotel wifi is often very insecure, leaving my data vulnerable. By connecting to one of their servers around the world, it’s just like my computer or phone is in that location, and all data sent while connected to their VPN is secure, safe, and private from others to see, so I know that my data won’t be hacked or looked at by others. Thanks so much for watching, and we have tons more videos coming up for you! Please leave me a comment below letting me know what you thought about this episode, thanks so much!!!

I love Nasi Lamak, I used to have a home cooked vendor as the Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. His wife made them every day, and he sold them to those of us in the know! And, theirs had twice that amount of anchovy and peanut. Though no diss intended for that excellent dish. I'm recalling a memory from around 1987-1988. Good meal at University!!

I don't understand why Malaysians/Indonesians have to fight or throw fire about food. Our food has tons of influences from Arabian countries, Egyptian, Indian and Portuguese. We had our spices from traders and we start to develop flavors from that. Food is food and I don't give a damn where it came from. If you mix goddamned politic into culinary, I would not talk to you. Stop being so narrow and just enjoy the taste.

That nasi lemak with fried chicken is RM14 WOAHH EXPENSIVE. Although the basic nasi lemak only contain: rice, sambal, hard boiled egg/sunny side up egg, cucumber slices, anchovies and peanuts :D Other than that, you can add more like fried chicken, cockles and more! Nasi lemak is like Malaysian's ramen. You can add a lot of toppings. I'm so happy that you enjoy our food in Malaysia. I wish you have a good trip here! Also visit other regions of Malaysia like Penang, Sabah and Sarawak. They have a lot of food to offer!!

Almost all Nasi Lemak dishes in the cities are modernised. Nasi Lemak in its original form does not contain fried chicken.
@cee_el7 жыл бұрын
Taufiq Othman I've never been to Malaysia but I always thought it was curry chicken. Or maybe it's not too. ?
@Twofix7 жыл бұрын
Christine Lee It is somewhat similar to KFC-style chicken but with Indian twist.
@Stephenwwkay7 жыл бұрын
At its most essential, nasi lemak is the coconut rice, sambal, anchovies and nuts. And, I guess, cucumbers. Ain't nothing wrong with the modernized version. The fried chicken at the place they went to is pretty bomb and in a 100 years, what's new today will be considered traditional, so eat whatever makes you happy.
@Twofix7 жыл бұрын
Stephenwwkay How could you say that? It is like saying that California roll sushi is the traditional sushi in next 100 years.

I'm missing your language, charisma and authenticity... ...I loved your take as a westerner and international, a person with significant education in food and culture, and of course an incredible ability for language and interpretation which is so significant and certainly not interchangeable. Here's to a courageous man with a great palette and the ability to interpret complex dishes into a culinary language we can all understand and be inspired by. 😪 Except! I say this as a person who doesn't ever think about screen time or dialogue...but even I noticed! You are being taken advantage of, your cohost is ridiculously clichéd and innocuous...and I'm sure is a wonderful person...but she dominates through editing in the worst way. She does not have your charisma, knowledge or talent............Please return as yourself !

I agree. If i want fake cutesy behaviours and cheesiness, i'd go to kpop videos instead. That gyomi style of mannerism is just not working for me, an adult with no interest of lolichan/kpop-idols culture.
@louislin35617 жыл бұрын
Well put. As someone of Chinese origin myself I can second that the way she carries herself is completely cliched and is an obvious attempt make people who are less familiar with the Chinese culture become infatuated with her. I'd much rather watch Trevor with his authenticity and originality by himself than with a dime-a-dozen co-host.

no that price is okay considering they took everything there. look at their plates its freakin full to the brim. i think a normal 3 dish food would cost less than rm15. unless you take whole sotong or fish head curry.
