I know this is an older video, but when you asked on IG what people would want in a beginner tarot book.. this, linking the cards, choosing how to read, which meanings come forth, what sequence how to choose.

One of the best videos I've seen on connecting the cards, creating a narrative and trying out a few different interpretations depending on where you start. It's liberating to free yourself from the traditional direction of left to right and instead letting the cards themselves speak to you first and then decide intuitively which holds the greatest meaning. Thanks..

I love this video. Linking the cards and seeing the story within them actually makes sense now! I've done readings where it seemed like the cards were in the wrong order. I figured I had to be mistaken, because the card was in x position, therefore, it can only be interpreted with that position in mind. It's hard to tell the story when chapters appear to be out of order.

It is said, "When the student is ready the teacher will show up". I've been trying to learn tarot for at least five years now and all of the class teachings I've taken have not gone past the basic meanings of the cards. I've been so frustrated in trying to understand how to read cards in combinations versus individually and you have made things make so much sense to me! Now to practice. Thank you so much! 😍

Thank you for the time and effort you put into this video. The only thing I would recommend, because some people only listen, you should really reference the cards by their names as opposed to using words such as "there, here, this one" etc and instead use the name of the cards. I know this is an old video and I'm sure you've probably progressed greatly but it was just a thought.

Hello,So are you saying it does not matter where you start from when you lay cards down?i if you lay them down 1234 you do not have to read them 1234 in that order, can you read them 1324 or 2134 just depending on the energy you get from card? Is this technique applied only when the reading has no question asked? Or can you read it the same way with a question asked?
@thefoolsjournal7 жыл бұрын
+ru.talaa Great question! I think, ultimately, you can do whatever feels right for you. If you begin the reading with the intention that you will let the cards guide you in that way, than I say absolutely! More and more I lay out the cards without any assigned meanings to the spread and I just try really hard to listen to them and be guided by the energy of them. The caveat is that if I do lay out a spread with intentional positions, I do obey the rules of the positions. But I decide one way or another before I shuffle, so that I know what the "rules" of the reading will be. Still, if I'm looking at a spread and I'm really suck, I just try to shit everything else down and let the cards talk.

Naturally, I should be the first person to respond. :) How cool to hear my name for the first time in a youtube video! LOL I totally appreciate you taking the time, so soon, to answer my question, Tom. There's a lot to think about, but it does help inspire me to keep practicing as you do in your videos. One spread after another... The thing is, I'm a perfectionist, which I think you might be too, so I tend to overthink or over prepare when I should just jump in and learn from experience. Your examples in this video are very helpful, so yes, you have answered my question in a big way. Now I need to start trusting myself and do the work without worrying what other readers would do... Take care!

My interpretations are somewhat in the ball park, but are still off. When you put the 2 of Cups, 5 of Wand and The Devil…. I interpreted it as two ppl fighting over someone. Maybe the guy in the 2 of Cups is trying to tell the other person to back off and leave us alone as he has become obsessed with them… lolz. I’m still trying to get it. ♥️🙏🏾

My problem is when two or three cards don't make any sense together ?
@rutalaa7 жыл бұрын
Hi can you do a reading with a question on how to link the cards together to form a story? I always get confused if there is no positions. SometimesI don't know how read for myself I think I don't trust myself in what I see,so I am always confused in reading... I just noticed that even in context of a question you do not have to go in order, reading left to right or right to left you read them 321 or 213 or 231? Is it whatever your intuition draws you to? Am I correct in understanding this?
@rutalaa7 жыл бұрын
Gasp!!! I just saw an interpretation could I interpret it this way starting from the far right the 10 of wands as being afraid with the burdens that he seems to be under and realizes the Fool that he should take a chance take the risk, The Seer of Wands tells me that he seems to be no longer afraid as he has this wild animal beside him that will protect him. Could I also interpret this wild animal to be someone else in his life that will be by his side as he goes on this new journey?
@thefoolsjournal7 жыл бұрын
+ru.talaa Yes, definitely. What I try to do is sort of listen to the cards and let them tell me which one is the place I should start. So the strongest one usually gets my attention. But it's not always that way. Reading for yourself can be incredibly difficult. I find if I don't sit down and write out the reading, when I read for me, I never really know what it's saying. But whatever you see is the message that needs to be delivered, as far as I'm concerned. We all have our experiences and reactions and that colors what we see in the cards. So you're reading is absolutely valid.
@rutalaa7 жыл бұрын
Hello once again..... This is your way of reading tarot yes? So because you read this way everyone doesn't have to read this way yes? As I see different tarot readers read different ways.. I guess what I'm trying to say is every tarot has their own reading style and if it feels right to them then it is, one does not have to read in a certain order unless there is a position for the cards as you explained to me ☺️...I guess my mind is programmed to follow rules, and it's hindering me from interpreting the tarot and listening to my intuition. as if there is a way that all tarot readers are to read. But if everyone reads differently then that is the right way for them yes?
@thefoolsjournal7 жыл бұрын
+ru.talaa Absolutely. Everyone has their style. I'm just sharing what I've learned and what works for me. And it's always changing. So I say "go with what works for you! " :-)
