we have a ton of wendigo/skin walker lore in the United States and the most common things that are said: 1) if you hear a woman or baby crying; no you didn’t 2) if you hear your name being called; no you didn’t. 3) if you see something; no you didn’t, keep walking. 4) dont whistle in the woods at night. 5) if you’re in the woods at night even when you shouldn’t; if you hear anything that “doesn’t seem right” ignore it and dont stop, get home immediately. 6) and finally, never say wendigo because it can attract it to you

A Quiet Place (2017) Underwater (Rise of Cthulhu) (Idk the release date srry) And I've seen some of the Alien and Predator franchises (I'm not entirely sure if they're horror or action sci-fi) Edit: I'm going to watch A Quiet Place 2 on Wednesday, I want to watch IT and see how it goes (last time I watched it, I chickened out) and I'm dying to finish watching the Alien, Predator, and AvP franchises

I love that they have the Skinwalker transforming into other creatures like that dog to fool you and attack, that's perfect and that's exactly what the lore-accurate monster does. It makes it so tense because you never know. And making surrounding animals aggressive and tense and even possessed is also accurate. They can also skin-steal humans, and they could walk amongst people undetected, just acting a bit off, which you might not realize until too late, so the tension of who's friend and who's foe is the scariest thing about them- but there are no people in this game so that's fine, the dog trick is perfect. They are attracted to sound, specifically loud noises, whistling, and saying the name out loud- the first is shown in the game so that's cool. And they are very vindictive hunters, so it makes sense that this one is out to get you. Especially if you look them in the eyes. Cold, empty, dead eyes. So that much at least the game is doing right. As for it's true form (apelike deer skull thing), that's not lore-accurate and is actually a colonial bastardization of the lore (same with the Wendigo), but I guess they can use it if they show it transforming. When they get pressed, they run like humans, but within animal skins so they bend and posture in a sickeningly unnatural way for a dog or deer. They're also known to move in a really weird stiff way when they do- so there's def some stuff missing, but my mind is changed about with the dog trick since that wasn't in the first ep. Also- skinwalkers don't have human cult worshippers in European monk robes. Not a thing.

Hey Fooster, got a spook story for you. I met an old friend of my dad's while I was hunting feral pigs over the weekend. He told me about a dog thing he saw. The way he described it I thought it was a coydog, a mix of domestic dog and coyote, common around here, but then he told me if I spotted one not to shoot it, because the whole pack would come to the sound of the shot. He mentioned the name ringdocus, I got home super curious and googled it, turns out it's a very old story and his description matched up. The Native American name is Shunka Warak'in Also, check out the Monster of McCone County.

This is true. Coyotes are very sly and when combined with a domesticated dog they are very smart. They know the habits you and your animals have outside on and near your property (A coyote trait) and their pack sense (instincts from the now domesticated dog hybrid) is uncanny.

So my question is. Skin walkers and the legends are usually found in dessert areas like Utah and Nevada. And while yes we do have pine trees the mountains and forest are more or less covered in sage brush and juniper trees. Not these deep forests you see here. One time when I was out on a field all by my self doing some animal research, I got the most scared I have been for a while. I sat there, all by myself and it was getting dark and there ofc. was no one around, suddenly from only meters behind me, I hear something SCREAM! loud! I quickly got up and looked and prepared for whatever it would be.. I had never heard that sound before, but later that night, I found out that it was one of the Fox Screams. - Even small animals can surprise you haha. Great video man! and I will definitely check out some more about the Skinwalker / Wendigo!

If I recall my legend correctly the Skinwalker was once a normal human. They becane Cannibals and got taken by Dark Spirits to become what you see tho I've seen worse depictions of it. If I were to play I would do the Totems with a central on-upgrade it as much as possible then spread the others in a circle-upgraded so they're Radar overlays.

When you entered the church & the windows blew out, notice it was after you got the "false god" achievement -- I think the wendigo's evil possessing the church was purged after it had claimed & desecrated the old church & cemetery. It freaked you out but it was like an exorcism & cleansing thing.

Dude, I used to get that fear in real life. Be walking into some isolated woods to hunt as a early teenager and it's just before dawn, maybe 4am. Need to look for sign and find a decent spot to post up for the morning as the deer or elk head to bed down. Every twig that broke had me on edge. I'd find my spot and it's like being on Cocaine and PCP. Every little sound is automatically Bigfoot or a cougar. Im 36 now but that still happens now and then.

Hey fooster, there is a place called Lund In Utah, if you go down the highway that leads to there at approximately 1 in the morning, there is supposed to be a child or elderly person in the middle of the road. They look at you right before you hit them….. it’s a scary place. I avoid going there at all costs. There are totally skinwalkers there😳💀

Me and some friends were up at one of Solitudes many lakes sitting at a park bench. One of my buddies stated that the woods were nice and quiet. I agreed and said it was peaceful. All 5 of us realized at the same time and took off running to my car. On the way up we saw a "Coyote" on the road and it was walking in the middle of the road going the opposite direction. I stared into it's eyes and it just stared back. I thought it was creepy but didn't pay no mind. Once we took off running to my car from the woods we started back down to SLC. We were taking it slow down the canyon when a deer ran across the road. We all jokingly said "holy shit, a skinwalker hahahahaha". We turned a blind corner 2 turns down from there and there were people standing on the side of the road. We know it was a prank pulled but holy shit it was terrifying. We also saw a person on a cliff at Skinwalker ranch. Sorry if this isn't written well, I quite frankly just dgaf

i swear i’ve seen an actual skinwalker one day, i live in WV and my backyard is surrounded by pure forests, i was taking my dog out on night at like 12 and i was home alone and i swear i saw something ontop of my driveway and it stood up. i was so scared i just called for my dog and went back inside and i’m half native american so i did more research and scared myself even more 😭😭
