Xavi retired in 2015. Because of his age and when he peaked, he unfortunately missed out on most peoples 2000-2010 team of the decade, and for me misses on this one too. Iniesta however deserves a shout since he quit playing top level in 2018 and won a ton with Barca this decade.

Honestly would have to say Jamie Vardy is very underrated. Non-League to Premier League record breaker, while still not playing for one of the "big" teams in the league and has been a consistent star performer since Leicester made it back into the PL. Many of the other names mentioned are part of an already star-studded squad, while being stars themselves, whereas Vardy is not and still playing as good as if not better than a lot of them. Perhaps hasn't been at that level for a whole decade, but I feel he's come on leaps and bounds in the last 5 years and that more than makes up for it.

I think the timing hurts Iniesta. Undoubtedly one of the best of all time, but his peak was arguably from 2005ish to about 2016, so I can see why they'd argue other players. But yes, overall, as good as Modric and Silva are, Iniesta edges them out in an all -time list for me.
