Switzerland 2 - 0 England. Switzerland will defend well and score in the first half. England will try score late in the second half but be exposed and Switzerland will score again on a break.

1 - 0 England, Southgate will continue as manager, and another generation of talent will be lost.
@Bkesal145 ай бұрын
England will defo win. Unfortunately we're in this situation now where they'll continue to get results despite being brutal to watch in my opinion. Switzerland will outplay them and lose. Germany Spain is tough to call but both could be exposed at the back at times. 2-2 and Spain AET.

Southgate has to bench Foden or Bellingham. We can't play with 2 10s. They both want the ball and run with the ball and can't stretch a backline. Let Gordon have a game.

It’s not gonna be Bellingham. It would be brave of Southgate though to bench the best player in the world. And people are clamoring for bravery from him. It would be stupid but very brave

Should have picked chilwell & Mitchell over shaw & trippier. Chilwell is very attacking minded so would be perfect against that sits back. And Mitchell can be picked when playing against a talented winger
@Phil21095 ай бұрын
Big up the guys at football daily. England. For me, Southgate should have picked another left back. I personally felt it was criminal he didn't take one. Tripper is a decent fullback, but he is better in his natural position on the right. With Foden there also not playing in his normal position, it leaves Tripper exposed. With Kyle Walker on the other side, ageing. If England were to play a team such as Spain with decent forwards, they would be torn to sheds. But all these weaknesses at the back are being brought to fruition due to Southgates' team selection tatics and intent, which seem a lot similar to Conte. In the aspect of if we take the league, sit back and try and protect what we have rather than going for the kill. The problem is that sitting back and inviting pressure gives the opposition the impetus, and when if they do eventually break England down, the momentum will often lead them to score a second. For example, Italy at the last Euros It is often difficult to switch between a mindset of being defensive and going offensive.

Have to say the way the players and Southgate have spoken in the press is completely embarrassing (except Anthony Gordon tbf) the way they act like they have been completely terrible for five straight games and they have some god concept where they think they are above criticism. Everyone in any walk of like gets criticised for poor performances but apparently the best players and favourites of the tournament shouldn’t be for playing like shambles. They’ve clearly not watched back any of the games or if they have must’ve fallen asleep during it and anybody would’ve struggled to aswell.

With all due respect to Dougie and Mccubs (seriously because you guys are OGs) I don’t understand how England fans are still going to bat for Southgate. His squad selection was ok at best picking mostly obvious names with some shocking decisions particularly in defense imo. His tactic is truly truly horrific, it’s slow and boring and has next to no offensive output. I don’t understand how you can have a front four of Kane, Bellingham, Saka and Foden among so many others and have that stagnant of an offense. That’s not on the players, they’re out there doing everything they can I mean Kane literally dropped into defense a couple times to pick up the ball lmao. And I still don’t understand how England fans can still underrate Kane. He is the entire attack and has been for years, in the past it’s been oh it’s Sterling and now it’s oh it’s Bellingham but it’s ALWAYS been Kane because he does everything. I’m a neutral so I have no personal bias towards or against England and every game I watch Kane is running the show so I genuinely don’t know what Dougie is on about lol. I just don’t understand how fans still think Southgate is the guy. Give them any type of modern minded coach with some fresh tactics and they win any competition they’re in. I mean imagine Ange with that squad…his commentary the other night was outstanding imagine how lethal that offense attack would be with him at the helm??

Englands worst performance of the tournament. In the group stages the issue was the front three but this game our midfield was getting walked through and our defence was making their average press look great. Then the late subs leaving below par players on the pitch for so long after we went 1-0 down! Shambles
@danruss123385 ай бұрын
A few things. Trippier and Foden doesn't work, that needs changing. Maybe a chance to 352 (3412) GK - Pickford Cb's - Walker, Stones and Konsa Lwb - Saka Rwb - Trend Cm's - Rice and Mainoo Cam - Jude St's - Kane and Toney It's a risk, but surely a risk worth taking? Also I don't agree with the Rice statement, and it's typical with a player of his nature, he's been doing the dirty work in midfield, tackling and being the man to sit there. Yes ok he could maybe venture forward a little more, but if he does it leaves the midfield far to exposed. I think saying he's been below par this tournament is a little harsh. And yes Switzerland beat Italy last time, but Italy were absolutely god awful and have been all tournament, aside from a wonder goal against Scotland they did struggle against them, it was an even game. I just don't think this Swiss side is as good as people make out and shouldn't be feared as much as people are. Granted we aren't playing well, but it can click and looks like it could very soon.

Southgate's overall team selection is ultimately what has led to this awful tournament if someone wasn't fit in Shaw why pick him. We rode our luck heavily against Slovakia and the Swiss will punish us if we play that badly again. Foden and Bellingham have been awful for so long and just because Bellingham scored only papers over the cracks we have cause both of them haven't been good enough. We don't deserve to be in the QF but we are and now we really are gonna find out what we are made of against an inform and very impressive Switzerland side.

Now Switzerland is favourite vs England. Get a grip... Hes not a great coach but nor are the majority of the coaches in the euro. R. Stats aren’t everything, obviously. But check Rice’s stats from yesterday. Without him we lose the game. Three midfield partners in 4 games. Is he the common denominator? Maybe. But you could also say change and uncertainty are also common denominators. Platt vs Belgium is the closest to Bellinghams goal. Played badly, didn’t deserve to win, then a stunner

Quite a few players had over 90% passes completed but that doesn’t mean they passed well. What we saw on the pitch is the biggest indicator of quality of performance, and it was crap from pretty much every player bar the subs.

The problem is that these guys talking are no different to Southgate. He ask the question do you take off Foden for a quarter final. Why not? He said safer option. The safer option is to do nothing like Southgate is doing. A bunch of cowards the lot of them. Ooh I'm a gent and I will have a cup of tea ooh. So out of touch. We need a Roy Keene or Stuart Pierce type or a Scottish or Irish anyone but these coward types. I know it sounds terrible or wild but this cowardice doesn't look good for England. Where is the brave? Southgate is lucky he has great players like Saka and now Bellingham who have excelled and made it look like he knows what he's doing. But the subs or lack of is cowardice. He brought Tony on in injury time. I doubt we'll see Tony again. We will see Foden and Kane. He said Bellingham avoids criticism despite scoring the winner and a bicycle kick recently but Foden will play. These guys don't have a clue. They mention Spain and Yamal when be don't give Gordon a sniff despite how ineffective Foden has been. They are happy to see Foden continue to waste multiple opportunities. Key word COWARDICE.

@keitholiver61525 ай бұрын
how can you not highlight Southgate's horrific tactical naivety? he has the tools to play good football, but is picking stars instead of profiles to fit the system. His system and style is awful too btw. I don't think he genuinely sees, or understands how to fix our issues. Like a lack of balance, specifically on the left wing. A lack of runners in behind, or to stretch the pitch/game, which compliments Kane. We pass sideways and back aimlessly. Absolutely embarrassing to witness The worst and most heinous crime on Southgate's head is not utilising his star winger Anthony Gordon. You see Nico Williams playing for Spain. This guy is not a better footballer than Anthony Gordon. They are very similar profiles, both elite level lw
