You hit the nail on the head when you say 'mood changer'. Once this is on skin for a while and you smell it you just feel so good, it's indulgent. I find fragrances with lavender and iris can have this effect and this is so perfectly balanced with the cacao and musk to give an indulgent, almost gourmand feel. Love it. Enjoyable review, feel your passion.

Wonderful review as always! I've sampled both DH and DHI, and ultimately just bought a bottle of the former. I was simply captivated by that fragrance and quickly fell in love with its character, quality, and complexity. I also feel DH is just more versatile; suitable for all seasons and occasions. DHI is wonderful stuff, but on a limited budget, I think I made the right call.

I will admit that women have a mixed reaction to this. Some go nuts and begged me to keep moving my arm with DHI on so they can smell it again. Others prefer the freshness of things like bleu de chanel. But in the cold weather, I love this fragrance and I was so happy to get 50ml of Dhi for Xmas. Love the Dhi Line. If you enjoy DHI may I recommend layering Serge Lutens' Un Bois Vanille with Dior Homme Eau. It gives the same vibe as DHI but with more depth & just that bit more feeling of class.

I love all of its stages through and through. From the bitterness at the beginning to the creaminess at teh end. And the the favorite of them all is day after.....oh boy it's worth the wait.

This, as much as it is "not my thing" gets absolutely nothing but respect from me. the bottle alone is just utterly mesmerizing. i sit there and stare in awe and wonder at such a beautiful work of art. the scent is not at all bad, actually it's quite good in a weird way, it's just not for me unfortunately. I've got samples of Original, Intense and Parfum and am having a hard time deciding which to buy first. I like them all. If Parfum becomes available I'll buy that first and next might buy Original as it's further away from Parfum than Intense is. But if I can't wait for Parfum do I buy Intense or Original? I can't decide!

Pear is a dry fruit in brittain and the West, în the eastern Europe where is mostly organic, is very juicy an tart, and that happens with all the fruits

I own DHI and DH. Both are very similar but evolve differently. I don't get that much of a lipstick vibe luckily because when I was a child I had the privilege of visiting the Crayola Crayon Factory. I loved the waxy smell of crayons being made it was very potent. With DH and DHI I get a slightly crayon smell but it smells like a flower covered in wax with a strong ambrette in the background. When the ambrette dies down I get ahead covered flower with a slight hint of chocolate in the background for the duration of the scent. My only pet peeve is the strong bitter ambrette for the first hour and a half. Great scent I'm in a nursing home and all the aides compliment me on DH and DHI. Some joke and say my room smells like Macy's because all the different fragrances

I know you said not to blind buy this, but the problem is I live in the states and I can't find a single store near me that carries DHI. However, I've smelled the reformulated DH and I do like it quite a lot, and I'm a senior in high school so I know no one around me is gonna be smelling like it. So.... Since I like DH, do you think it's alright for me to blind buy DHI? Believe me I would rather test it out but as I said, I can't find it anywhere in stores :/

It's actually becoming more difficult to find this. Dior doesn't even sell it in their own website. I found it at a third party perfume store in the mall for $80. I did have to blind buy but thankfully I enjoy this fragrance.

I have both and use DH for day-time and DHI for dates. DHI is way stronger smelling and you gotta be a little bit cautious with it, while DH is more crowd-pleasing and it'll give you no problems if you over-apply. I don't have a favourite. DHI is my leather-jacket date and DH is the easy-going more relaxed guy (while still very sexy)

Batch 4U02 July '14 for my bottle. Never had a problem with Lily Direct. Personally I'd go for Dior Homme instead of intense. But if you can afford both their great date nite scents.

That lipstick vibe is not good in my opinion. I tried it and only when i washed up and the fragrance got lighter then i liked it better because it torn down that lipstick! My favourite of the line is Dior Homme vintage! I have a 2008 bottle and whenever i smell it i say WOWWW!!! But, i cannot find it anymore. Reformulation is different. Good but nothing like the vintage.

Don't like smelling like lipstick and chocolates. Moreover, while the ladies do like this scent (my daughters use my DHI) they don't like smelling it on a man. I've been told that it smells like I am wearing a women's perfume. I agree and it's just not a fragrance for me. I have 19 Dior fragrances and this, along with Dior Homme, are the worst. Sorry!
