"Teaching Turf in the Sand Hills" focuses on a dual greenkeeping internship run by Kyle Hegland, superintendent at Sand Hills Golf Club, and Jared Kalina, superintendent at Ballyneal Golf and Hunt Club. Interns spend several weeks at both of these world-class golf courses, learning the art and science of turf management in the unique landscapes of Mullen, Nebraska, and Holyoke, Colorado.
In part one of this three-part series, we learn about Kyle and Jared's history together, the background of one of this year's interns, and the eccentricities of the workplace Kyle has created at Sand Hills.
Produced by Cameron Hurdus, Garrett Morrison, and Andy Johnson.
