Rhod on Taskmaster was just ADHD fuelled the whole time. James's anger at the extension task is a clip I rewatch all the time 😂😂
@MitchOLego3 жыл бұрын
See now it's funny, because I always felt like the brilliance of Rhod on Taskmaster was most highlighted by the Extension team task ... unlike everyone else, who usually immediately panics, he spends a few seconds at the start of every task just standing still, thinking about it, and then come up with his brilliant bizareness. Rhod and James are two of my favorite TM contestants of all time; both separately and as nemeses.

It's unfortunate for us deaf/hard-of-hearing people that hearing people take it so personally when you "ignore" their verbal greeting. I know James did it intentionally, but I do it unintentionally all the time, when hearing people talk at the back of my head and I don't hear them. I mean the same goes for all the other shows these guys are on - BUT - in particular TM. If anyone can get the B roll footage that was not shown - lets see it. I think there is a huge market for people getting access to off-camera moments on pretty much any popular show. Hell they could call it Dave 3.0 and only run B-clips... If you're a fan of the show you'll lap it up.

I think film / TV companies need to realise that their audience has matured - we actually WANT the bad recordings - yes by all means release the A roll stuff first, but a week later follow up with the B roll. Hopefully Gregg, Alex and the others will read these comments and do something about releasing the BTS footage - there's clearly a demand for it. Anything that they decided was too dodgy to broadcast with James Acaster in I definitely want to see. And something tells me there was a LOT of Sally Phillips footage we never saw. If we all keep talking about it online, hopefully they will do something.

Really great to see the video, see the auto-generated closed captions, and somewhat hear the audio as a hard-of-hearing fan with ADHD. I don't know if our boi Rhod is this way with his ADHD, but a lot of neurodivergent (ND) people need audio and visual stimuli combined to process and understand the information. Audio plus video plus captions, not just audio in isolation like the radio or a video with audio but no captions. Not to mention that non-native English speakers / English language learners often need captions, especially if they're not familiar with particular accents or dialects of English. Communicating information via all sensory modalities available makes it accessible to as many people as possible.

Rhod was just surprised by the acceptance because he was essentially the villain of the series. So much was (in jest, of course) mean-spirited or over-the-line like how he got Alex's pants off in almost one task each episode or how he snuck into Greg Davies' home to film him while he was sleeping for a prize task. But the audience and probably the general public looks pretty kindly on a little light bondage, especially if Alex is the one being tied up, and the ingenuity of the work-around clinched the positive reaction.

I was at the recording for the first episode on series 7 and there was an extensive bit by James and Rhod about how Greg had groomed James as a youth, that was never going to be on TV. Hilarious

I liked James mentioning 'breaking character'. I always wondered(not too hard, in a lot of cases) if the performers i regularly see are in character and not just themselves being funny. Im familiar enough with pro wrestling to know the term 'kayfabe'. Oh, Johnny Evil has it out for Steve Pureheart this match! but later they're in the cafeteria comparing lunches.

Rhod has a podcast with Sian?! I'd been waiting for the BBC Radio Wales one to come back for so long that I didn't even think to check if he'd made another!! Amazing

I love Rhod tried to be clever and ended up doing the stupidest thing during the extension bit.

Loved the show. Taskmaster had a missed opportunity to take the bits to the Repair Shop show. That would have been a good bit. Cheers!

I'm probably in the minority, but I really liked Rhod when he hosted Buzzcocks. I was sad that it was the last series ever, but the show had run it's course.

Its still running and now hosted by Greg Davies!

I'm totally with you. As sharp as Amstell was, by the the end of his run I thought the show had become too mean spirited and frankly predictable. Rhod made it more engaging for me again.

James keep saying, "You SAW the building materials." As someone who also has ADHD, I assumed that Rhod didn't even really see the building materials in the garage. If you're hyperfocused on one crazy scheme, your brain isn't going to pay attention to things irrelevant to that scheme. Maria from the Norway Taskmaster is similar.
@henrykramer3653 жыл бұрын
Yeah I found it odd that James couldn't believe that, and figured he must be playing up his disbelief for laughs...then realized not everyone has ADHD 😅

Took me about 5 solid minutes to figure out the Mike isn't James Acaster's knee in gold fish net stockings. Just kept staring. Is he... Is he wearing gold fishnets and blue boy shorts? On Rhods show? And Rhod had nothing to say about this? 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
