Independent thinking is a good virtu but IMO social media is a cancer on society. I believe its certainly ruined modern dating as one thing. The second is that we are more lonely now than ever before and yet everyone has "social" media.

Aww, I feel so special now, I was one of the commenters shown, thank you for noticing me 😁 I enjoy interview videos, getting other people's perspectives and opinions can help answer a question you may have had in your mind or give you something knew to think about and research. It was also nice that there was a varied age range here too. You showcase a lot of lovely ladies, and many have quite insightful and intelligent answers, but hearing men's perspectives could be helpful and useful too, although they're not as easy on the eyes as the ladies 🤣. Independent, a word foreigners HATE to hear from a woman 🤣 I think it depends on what kind of independent it is. Is it the western woman mentality where they can do everything for themselves and don't NEED anyone, or is it that they just need some space for a little me time to do something they like by themselves for a bit (as long as that doesn't include another guy). Social media can be good, like this channel providing helpful information to foreigners. The down side to social media is, it has given everyone a voice, but not all of those voices should be heard or listened to, there is a LOT of LIES and BAD advice given, and far too many without any common sense or critical thinking skills to decipher what is true or not. PLEASE DO NOT adopt western women's culture, that is what foreigners are FLEEING their own countries to get AWAY from, they're not flying half way around the world to end up with the same type woman.

Wow! Great interview! You can definitely see the difference mentality of thoughts, from both beautiful ladies. The second young lady is young, but has a very mature mentality! Great answers.

Good topic! Yes social media has most certainly changed the way the younger generation thinks about their culture. They seem to want to be more like the west, which is not always a good thing, and distancing themselves from their great culture. For instance, women like to say they are modest, yet so many are getting away from that. Filipinos currently have strong ties with their family, but once all the kids feel they have their independence they can lose that nice tight knit family. Change is inevitable, and some change is good , and some are not so good. Over time, the Philippines can be same as the west with all our problems. Social media makes it appear that things are a certain way, but many times its all fake. Now you are comparing your life to others, and thinking you are lacking in things.

Definitely I agree with you @kevink1214 that change is inevitable, some changes could be good or bad.

Yes it does... unfortunately, in my honest opinion. Social media is a disease, information access is awesome but the Social media craze needs to be slowed down or stopped. Just my opinion...

Good topic. I see new META is an addiction. Similar to game with goals and achievements that steal away time from family. A mindset that riches will arrive with engagement and followers. This is not common as much in US. And hope that other western negatives do not influence. The main western "mentality" not to spread is feminism. Thank you!

Just an FYI for all Filipina women. You can have a Western mentality But you see where it has gotten Western women ( ALONE). That’s why so many men from all over the world are traveling there. My suggestion is do not follow the western women Mentality because you all are still a Third World country; it would hurt your country’s economy exponentially. Tourism would fall, and the money that is spent in your country would cause chaos to your government. Even the women that benefit from these foreign relationships would stop immediately. And trust me, men will just go to another country and find it somewhere else. Social media creates a fairytale for women (telling you to become independent and that you can have it all ) but know there was only one Cinderella not thousands. You cannot have it all!! only what God has allotted you in this life. Keep your traditional ways because that’s what makes you special.-the fact that men travel and come from all over the world to find you is the very proof of that!!!

the more independent the Filipino feels and becomes the less the westerner has to support his wife and the ENTIRE family. maybe they can start earning their own money and not lean on the westerner for money
