I am always in awe at how knowledgeable and well spoken you are. I am an early interventionist (currently not working and home raising my 3 month old son) so I see sick babies and their families all the time. No parent I have ever come across has been so well informed. You are a wonderful advocate. There is a reason you were chosen to be their momma. How lucky are those boys. They will without a doubt be okay in the end because you are fantastic.

The fact that you will have been able to give THREE BABIES breastmilk for a year is such a huge gift to your babies. I was able to give my preemie some breastmilk for about 7 weeks and I hated not being able to give her more, but I also know I gave her everything I could.

Your strength is awesome. Many people would shy away from the challenges you are living every day. Hats off to you and Braxton for being the best parents for your boys. There are days I wish I had a magic wand. First place I’d wave it (or stick it) would be to your insurance company. Sharing your journey here in Melbourne Australia and wishing all healthy things for you and your boys. Diane x

I'm alao from Australia lol. My daughter Jennifer Kember was in the NICU for two months , which was hard, but all means nothing nearly close to what you and Braxton are going throught. Our Jennifer Kember came ho me on oxygen, had tohave anti reflex milk plus the pilesand never ever endind supply of medication. And you are tight it is HARD, but we keep going we have to there is no other way. I also had a 2yr old at home with us. His name is Thomas Oliver. ( (Jennifer Kember was a total butterfly, loved cuddles from any one, which made it hard to find her when we would first get to the NICU. THOMMAS OLIVER would run around saying "I have to find my Gentlefur...........can you help me" The nusrses THE AMAZING nurses are absolute miracle workers.I honestly believe that without thd I wouldn't have a 17yrs old sitting in front of md. Mumma just a quick 2 cents trust your gut.... us mummas know. God Bless and sending BIG HUGS LOTS OF LOVE AND PRAYERS From Karalyn Laurette from Perth Western Australia and Family.

You are the BEST mommy. I miss your smile. Just b/c people say your strength is amazing doesn’t make all of this less stressful. Your knowledge is so important to there care now and in the future. You are definitely doing the right thing by going with your gut feelings. It happens all the time things are over looked, not on purpose. I have worked in pedi for 19 years and I completely understand. It is vital for the tethered cord to be released. My friend son had that done and he is now in high school and plays baseball his spine is fine! Keep fighting for these beautiful boys and take your breaks when you can. Praying for you and your family daily. God bless all of you

**** Hey, my son was a premie too. Your description of where Croix is at fits to a T with what my son went through. He’s a major puker, he’s past 2 years old now and is still not caught up to the percentile charts. We tried various formulas, did all sorts of testing. When he was 19mo we got our results from his Whole Exome (Genome) Sequencing - the most in depth genetic testing currently available, which is the only test that truly gave us some answers. He has RFX7 Neurobehavioural Disorder, this genetic change is still pretty new to the medical world, the only medical articles about it were published in 2021. In Sept 2021 we were told only 14-15 children in the world were currently diagnosed with it, since then I’ve discovered 2 other families with a child with this RFX7 change through Facebook. Even if this isn’t what’s going on with Croix, I highly recommend getting this testing done for him. At the very least it will rule out any currently known genetic disorders that go undetected by the standard genetic testing. My son’s puking comes and goes a bit too. Some days are great with only a few mouthfuls and others he is puking multiple times with nearly every feed. **** I’ve created a Facebook group for it, its not a very active group but its there for the purpose of connecting families with it. facebook.com/groups/881453102805074/

Bravo to you for advocating for the best care for your boys. When my son was 2, I knew something was different. At 3 1/2, he was diagnosed as being on the Autism spectrum. If I hadn't advocated for him, it may have gone unnoticed for years and he would have missed out on so much important early intervention. This same son, broke his arm a few years ago. We chose to take him to Boston Children's (luckily we live just north of Boston) and he got wonderful care and had surgery there. Keep fighting for your sons. Always. ❤️. Best of luck dealing with the insurance!

Continue being the great advocate for your precious boys. Boston Children's is great. The boys have come so far. Trust your mom gut. So hard to believe they're almost a year! A word of caution: If you start a Go Fund Me you have to pay taxes as it's considered "earned" income. If someone, does it for you then you don't have to pay taxes. Check it out, most people don't know beforehand. Hang in there. You are so strong. Continued prayers and blessings.

I can't believe they won't approve you guys for nursing. Poor Daxon. They damaged his poor vocal chords and didn't say anything. Just...wow. I can't imagine how you and Braxton felt hearing that. But I do hope you get answers you need when you come here to Boston. I'm sending you all the good vibes with insurance and getting approved, etc. You're a great advocate for your boys. They're so lucky to have you. You keep being the voice they need. Continued prayers for you, Braxton, and the boys! Little rockstars, all three of them!

“They” didn’t damage his vocal cords!! It commonly happens to babies, esp premies because they so little and tissues more friable etc who are intubated for long periods of time or multiple times. Often times it does get better. There isn’t ways to prevent it and there isn’t anything anyone did to make it happen.

First and foremost, you are an amazing mom! All the advocacy you do for your boys is just amazing and I'm sorry the medical system is failing you in many ways. I did want to ask if you have any plan to incorporate baby sign? Highly recommend as it's often easier for small children and with the vocal cord problems it could give your baby an easier language to learn.

I've been a nurse for 13 years, and most of my experience has been in Tracheostomy's, ventilators, and G-Tubes working in Home Healthcare. I currently work with a special needs patient that's 6 years of age, and Medicare will not even pay for GLOVES AND HAND SANITIZER! Private insurance has it's issues too....so I believe every single thing you're saying! Also, they've cut her PT down from twice a week to once a week...UNREAL! just hang in there; you guys will get through this, and things will work out. Prayers for your lovely family.

Great job momma! I'm sure u have many people who are curious about what u r dealing with concerning your babies. I'm praying for your family. Hopefully they will outgrow most of their health problems. When my daughter was a baby she had respiratory problems. Thank God she was caught up by the time she was 3. And she is now an adult with a 5 year old son of her own. He had a few minor issues compared to what your babies are going thru, but we were still terrified to know he had things going on. So it's no wonder u and your husband are having any anxiety of your own. Hang in there! Rely on each other. And u will get thru it. look how far u have come already!

Check with your insurance regarding having a nurse and a CNA at the same time for more than one boy. I took care of 2 medically complex brothers as a nurse and insurance allowed a CNA to be there with me so we worked together to care for them and I handled the more medically complex things such as meds and trachs and vents and CNA did more bathing and feeding. It worked wonderfully.
