Too much was changed for it to be just a game mode. The game has a whole new building system using ghosted blocks, zombie controls, RTS camera / controls, no inventory just supplies, new zombie abilities, and much more.

My first impression based on everything I've seen and heard so far is that this might be fun for a couple of rounds with friends... But I'm into intricate base building, exploration, and long-term progression. Joining random lobbies (assuming that's how matchmaking is done) to play a 1 hour round of 7 Days arcade mode is not my jam. Again, just my honest opinion based on what I've seen so far.

Not my cup of tea as I don't do multiplayer, but it looks fun. I think I paid $20 for 7Days years ago, have about 2,000 hours into it and I love watching Neebs Gaming and Glock9 videos on it. I've gotten a lot of enjoyment out of this franchise (which it feels like after playing so many alphas) for very little, so I'm wishing TFP the best.

I had some builders once. They did a job and they were paid. They didn't complete that job though. They then started trying to offer me other works and I was like... "when are you going to finish that other job! Don't start pimping me stuff when you haven't finished the other job!" I mean, when they walked on the floor with bare feet it made the noise of a shoe and it was always like that. Then they started playing me some nice music they had written but it was like, that's nice. But why are your feet making that noise. I tell you, when they started walking up the ladder... I had to call an exocist... I just couldn't take them seriously after that.

Gonna be completely honest, this looks poor... I enjoy 7 Days to Die (have dang near 1000 hours in it) but this looks like some low quality cashgrab tower defense game with a 7 Days to Die skin I hope this doesn't slow down the development cycle any longer because it already takes you guys forever to push out a single update for a game that has been running for 11 years and counting. I know people get mad when you talk about the development time but it's a completely valid criticism, it's the elephant in the room if you will

This would be cooler if you could try to make the Behemoth Zombie that was talked about sometime back, work in this mode. Would be fun as a Zombie Master to have access to one Behemoth and trade off it's high damage, high toughness for it being slow. Just the idea of a lumbering giant getting too close to smash a wall or defense down could be very useful to distract the survivors from the smaller, faster zombies attacking defenses elsewhere.

A recurring issue of getting people into 7 Days to Die is the amount of survival work required to get to the Horde Nights. My older brother would definitely enjoy the Horde Nights, but spending two or three gaming sessions running missions and learning skills just getting there is a bit much to ask of him - especially when you need to arrange farming and other things. So a game that is just Horde Nights is generally good. I would hope I can get around to building the types of structures I can build in regular 7 Days.

You can make your 7dtd just horde nights, though. You can change blood moon frequency to be as often as you want

It's the only game I truly love, and that's coming from a non-gamer. I think there may be a POI named after my last name, and if so, I LOVE IT! (I'd straight get a 7D2D tattoo if it's named exactly after my last name), but, regardless, I'm going to play this game for the rest of my life!! Love my Fun Pimps!!
