This is definitely an old time wargamer's build. I first encountered these type of grain fields in the 1980s! Are there any other old-timer tabletop terrain you would like to see modernized?

@TheGameSmithsTable You are really talented! I noticed you don't post videos anymore but I want to thank you for the ones you've posted! There's so much good stuff in here. You've really helped me level up a bunch of stuff at my own table. Grateful for you!

Hey GameSmith, Great idea. I'm using the haystack idea. I took a shortcut and I used hot glue to attach the fibers. I started at the bottom then the middle then a big dollop at the top I pat it down tight using enough fiber that I don' t burn myself. Then I spray it with thin PVA. then again and again. Thanks for the idea, I love it. I'm eating eggs like crazy just to make a few dozen haystacks.

A few dozen hay stacks? Wow! Sound like a great short cut. I'm glad you were safety conscious, too. I've had more than my share of hot glue burns over the years.

I've never seen anyone glue the edges of the fields before. Nice touch.

I've been wanting to do this. My trouble has been finding plain mats. All I've been finding have sayings painted on top. 😁

I had that trouble, too. Mine has "GO AWAY" written across it, but it also had a lot of empty space, too, so I just worked around it.
