Mahama is a good man. He had to give his phone away just to listen to one of his fiercest critics when he was in office as president. Such is life, patience and time heals everything. Nduom will be on his feet again. I didn't like him very much especially for his campaign against the Komenda sugar factory, but he really empowered livelihoods across the country. Sensible leaders do not bring such people to their knees as Akufo Addo and his cousin have done to Mr. Nduom. I wish him well.

On what basis do you conclude that the technology and machinery were outdated? This was Indian technology, India is the second largest sugar producer globally second only to Brazil - what's the basis of that assertion? It's an import substitution drive, it was a first step - was definitely not meant to address all our sugar demands. The project was overpriced relative to what? Nduom was one of the first to put forward this idea that we should have planted the cane sugar ahead of the factory. The reality was that, the local farmers were growing varieties not necessarily adequate for sugar production (most of them use cane sugar for the local gin - akpeteshie), second - it was going to be hard to get farmers to ditch their current varieties or take on new varieties when they were not assured of an off taker (the factory for that matter). He Nduom tried rice production, ask him how successful he was at it? He had no prior experience with sugar production, the government was dealing with the Indians with superior understanding of that business. The new government just like many others deliberately decided not to access the second tranche of the facility that was meant to take care of raw materials production. How do you expect the factory in the face of this deliberate neglect to be viable? Import substitution is one key way to address balance of payment challenges and by extension challenges with local currency on the fx market - how do you term an import substitution drive as misallocation of tax payers' funds?

Everyone has the right to support which political party they want. I also threw my support for Akouffo Addo, even though I don't have a vote in Ghana, because of what I heard but later I changed my mind when corruption started hitting Akouffo Addo government. Even though NDC was very corrupt, Nana under NPP is the mother of all corruption . We should also understand that NDC under Mahama gave rise to the corrupt Nana Addo to gain power. If Mahama wins he shouldn't allow those corrupt NDC and civil servants to ruin his record.
