00:03 Differentiation involves finding the gradient of a point on a curve 04:01 The formula for calculating the derivative is f(x + h) - f(x) / h. 07:54 The equation is derived and differentiated to find the gradient of the normal. 11:44 Differentiate the function and find the intervals where it is increasing 16:16 Differentiate and differentiate again to find second differentials 20:15 The second derivative was less than zero at x=1, indicating a local maximum point, and greater than zero at x=4, indicating a local minimum point. 24:16 The minimum speed for the journey is approximately 90.8 kilometers per hour. 28:25 The minimum cost of the journey is 93 pounds and 3 pence. h gets smaller and smaller so the triangle used to estimate the gradient gets smaller. The estimate of the gradient gets better. As h gets as close to zero as you want it to. You can treat h as zero in the equation. The limit of h is zero.

Hi. You actually need very good indices skills for differentiation. Anyways, to answer your question, If u wanna shift x² to the top lets say it was 2/x² so that would become 2x^-2 right. Similarly, in this if u shift x² to top you would take away a power of -2. So, 1/2-2 = -3/2. Lemme know if it helps
