Question 1: Standard Form Conversion Given: 3246 × 1 0 7 3246×10 7 and a smaller number 0.00496 0.00496. Process: Move the decimal point so the number is between 1 and 10. Count the jumps for the power of 10. For large numbers: positive power. For small numbers: negative power. Question 2: Highest Common Factor (HCF) and Lowest Common Multiple (LCM) using Prime Factors Given: Prime factorizations of two numbers. Process for HCF: Write out all prime factors. Highlight common factors and multiply them. Example: HCF of numbers with prime factors 3 2 × 7 3 2 ×7 and 2 2 × 3 2 × 7 2 2 ×3 2 ×7 is 3 2 × 7 = 63 3 2 ×7=63. Process for LCM: Multiply the HCF by the remaining prime factors of both numbers. Example: 3 2 × 7 × 2 2 × 3 × 7 = 15 , 876 3 2 ×7×2 2 ×3×7=15,876. Question 3: Mean from Grouped Frequency Table Given: A table with grouped data. Process: Find midpoints of each group. Multiply midpoints by frequencies to get a total. Divide the total by the number of data points. Example: Mean height from grouped frequency table is 160.125 cm. Question 4: Frequency Polygon Given: Data points for a frequency polygon. Process: Plot midpoints against frequencies. Connect points with straight lines using a ruler. Question 5: Solving Inequalities and Drawing on Number Line Given: Two inequalities to solve. Process for solving: Rearrange to isolate the variable. Example: For 3 𝑦 − 2 𝑦 + 6 < 41 3y−2y+6

18) Read the Graph: Identify the given speed-time graph and understand that it represents the speed 𝑉 V (in m/s) of a train over time 𝑇 T (in seconds). Divide the Time Interval: Divide the first 20 seconds into four equal intervals. Each interval will be: 20 seconds 4 strips = 5 seconds per strip 4 strips 20 seconds =5 seconds per strip Identify the Heights (Speeds) at Intervals: At 𝑇 = 0 T=0 seconds, read the speed 𝑉 V from the graph. At 𝑇 = 5 T=5 seconds, read the speed 𝑉 V. At 𝑇 = 10 T=10 seconds, read the speed 𝑉 V. At 𝑇 = 15 T=15 seconds, read the speed 𝑉 V. At 𝑇 = 20 T=20 seconds, read the speed 𝑉 V. Calculate the Areas: First Interval (0 to 5 seconds): This will form a triangle. If the speed at 𝑇 = 0 T=0 is 𝑉 0 V 0 and at 𝑇 = 5 T=5 is 𝑉 1 V 1 , the area is: Area = 1 2 × base × height = 1 2 × 5 × ( 𝑉 0 + 𝑉 1 ) Area= 2 1 ×base×height= 2 1 ×5×(V 0 +V 1 ) Second Interval (5 to 10 seconds): This will be a trapezium. If the speed at 𝑇 = 5 T=5 is 𝑉 1 V 1 and at 𝑇 = 10 T=10 is 𝑉 2 V 2 , the area is: Area = 1 2 × ( sum of parallel sides ) × height = 1 2 × ( 𝑉 1 + 𝑉 2 ) × 5 Area= 2 1 ×(sum of parallel sides)×height= 2 1 ×(V 1 +V 2 )×5 Third Interval (10 to 15 seconds): Another trapezium. If the speed at 𝑇 = 10 T=10 is 𝑉 2 V 2 and at 𝑇 = 15 T=15 is 𝑉 3 V 3 , the area is: Area = 1 2 × ( 𝑉 2 + 𝑉 3 ) × 5 Area= 2 1 ×(V 2 +V 3 )×5 Fourth Interval (15 to 20 seconds): Another trapezium. If the speed at 𝑇 = 15 T=15 is 𝑉 3 V 3 and at 𝑇 = 20 T=20 is 𝑉 4 V 4 , the area is: Area = 1 2 × ( 𝑉 3 + 𝑉 4 ) × 5 Area= 2 1 ×(V 3 +V 4 )×5 Sum the Areas: Sum up the areas of the four strips to get the total distance traveled by the train in the first 20 seconds. Example Calculation (using example heights): Assume the following speeds (for simplicity, replace with actual values from the graph): 𝑉 0 = 2 m/s , 𝑉 1 = 5 m/s , 𝑉 2 = 10 m/s , 𝑉 3 = 16 m/s , 𝑉 4 = 18 m/s V 0 =2m/s,V 1 =5m/s,V 2 =10m/s,V 3 =16m/s,V 4 =18m/s Areas: Area 1 = 1 2 × 5 × ( 2 + 5 ) = 17.5 m Area 1= 2 1 ×5×(2+5)=17.5m Area 2 = 1 2 × 5 × ( 5 + 10 ) = 37.5 m Area 2= 2 1 ×5×(5+10)=37.5m Area 3 = 1 2 × 5 × ( 10 + 16 ) = 65 m Area 3= 2 1 ×5×(10+16)=65m Area 4 = 1 2 × 5 × ( 16 + 18 ) = 85 m Area 4= 2 1 ×5×(16+18)=85m Total Distance: Total Distance = 17.5 + 37.5 + 65 + 85 = 205 m Total Distance=17.5+37.5+65+85=205m So, the train traveled an estimated distance of 205 meters in the first 20 seconds. Note: Replace the assumed speeds with the actual speeds read from your graph to get the accurate answer.

Find the area scale factor: We're given the base area of the reference model (6 cm²) and the base area of the new model (23.5 cm²). To find the area scale factor, we divide the new base area by the reference base area: Area Scale Factor = 23.5 6 = 3.9167 Area Scale Factor= 6 23.5 =3.9167 Find the linear scale factor: To find the linear scale factor, we take the square root of the area scale factor: Linear Scale Factor = 3.9167 ≈ 1.9799 Linear Scale Factor= 3.9167 ≈1.9799 Find the volume scale factor: To find the volume scale factor, we cube the linear scale factor: Volume Scale Factor = ( 1.9799 ) 3 ≈ 7.8404 Volume Scale Factor=(1.9799) 3 ≈7.8404 Calculate the amount of clay needed for the new model: We're told that we used 2 kg of clay for the reference model. To find out how much clay we'll need for the new model, we multiply the amount of clay used for the reference model by the volume scale factor: Clay needed for new model = 2 × 7.8404 ≈ 15.6808 kg Clay needed for new model=2×7.8404≈15.6808 kg Determine the number of bags needed: Since clay is sold in 10 kg bags, we need to round up to the nearest whole number of bags: Number of bags needed = ⌈ 15.6808 / 10 ⌉ = 2 Number of bags needed=⌈15.6808/10⌉=55 So, Mark will need to buy 2 bags of clay to make the new model.

1:03:59 Sir, can you not just use a logical approach to finding region R? Because the first equation says LESS THAN, so we know region R has to be UNDER the line. Then, the second equation says LESS THAN as well, so we know region R is gonna be to the LEFT of the second line. Finally, the third line says LESS THAN as well, so we know R is gonna be under the first line, to the left of the second, and under the third, so you've found R without really thinking about it. This saves so much time 👍

Hi Sir, I'm a bit confused about the circle theorem question (question 15). Is angle BDC and angle ADE not the same as they are opposite eachother? I am obviously wrong but I would like to know why they are not the same.
@TheGCSEMathsTutor6 ай бұрын
They are just two angles on a straight line, and aren’t going to be equal as ADE is 90 (where a tangent meets a radius) and on the other side, there are two angles split up, so BDC has to be less than 90 😁
@adyanshahid62246 ай бұрын
sir for question 15 why cant alternate segment theorem be used to find BAO=57 and angles on a straight line to find ADE=90 so ABO then also equals 90 so AOB = 33? Thanks for the predicted paper.

For question 3a) is 160 okay for the 2 marks or do I need to write the .125
@TheGCSEMathsTutor6 ай бұрын
I usually wouldn’t advise ever rounding an answer unless a question specifies so, or unless an answer goes beyond 7-8 decimal places 🙏🏼

I hate maths with a burning passion! It is the hardest subject, i'm definitely failing so instead of enjoying myself in sixth form doing subjects i'm interested in, i'll have to do stupid maths lessons to pass this braindead subject. Once I eventually pass this exam, i'll forget everything i've learnt. I don't care because none of this will effect me in real life! Not only that, if I did have a maths question that needed answering, I have ai to figure it out for me, so there is NO point in me sitting here trying to remember all this.

100% agree. Don’t teach us how to buy a home, teach us Pythagoras theorem. Far more important
@jerry91396 ай бұрын
maths is the best subject going and the most important in the world!!!!
@TheGCSEMathsTutor6 ай бұрын
A lesson on buying a house would take 5 minutes, having the available careers to make the process easier takes years, and a maths GCSE gives you a lot of necessary problem solving skills to tackle problems in a variety of careers. Funnily enough I’m having my roof redone at the moment, the builder today was using Pythagoras, small world 🤷🏽♂️ Here’s your lesson on buying a house: 1. Make enough money to pay a deposit (or buy a house outright) 2. Go to a bank, ask for a mortgage (or a big cheque) 3. Go pick a house 4. Buy the house 👍🏼

Pls for question 17 why does it have to be the volume scale factor.
@TheGCSEMathsTutor6 ай бұрын
Because the clay it’s made of has a volume, maybe try imagining it’s an ice sculpture instead, and although it’s frozen water, the concept of it being made of water may be enough to convince you that it’s a volume 🤷🏽♂️
