My guess is to how it works is that as the electrons flow out of the nst through the middle electrode into ground they extert a small force on the middle pendulum due to newtowns third law and push it away from the 2 outer electrodes. If you reverse the wiring, the electrons would push the middle electrode as they *crashed* into it. Anyway, im still a beginner so i could be way off. Also thanks for making this series, im tried of always seeing 'dont mess with high voltage its too dangerous for you' and not actually teaching me how to be safe. So thanks :D

You made a comment that the Chines auto transformers were junk, I have opened several unites and found the quality very good, especially for the price. What have you found that makes them junk, besides the cosmetics.
