Ive shot all 3, but Bias due to me owning it; the M&P Carry Comp Metal is the winner for me and I’ve had zero issues and only gripe is the reset on the trigger. Next would be the Shadow Systems and lastly the Canik. Great video!

I just bought the TTI Combat. I got it for right at $1,000 with the red dot. I am getting this gun because I am starting to shoot in competitions. I have a TP9SFX, and I love that gun. I have an M&P 2.0 that I like shooting, but the trigger is nowhere near as good as my Canik. I haven't tried any Shadow Systems guns yet, but I have heard nothing but great things about them. Thank you for a great review and comparison of all three guns!

Hi. Saw David's video on the Cr920 XP. I already had a Shield Plus Perfor. Model from a couple of years ago, my wife loves Canik they are just too wide to fit in the webbing of my hand. Bought the CR920 XP for $921. If you have trouble with trigger finger pinch from Glock you may get it with the Shadow. Rounded the sharp corners on the safety dingus. Helped, but still pinched and was getting some type of recoil impulse in the trigger. Bought the $70 Apex trigger pad and connector for the flat trigger. 300 rounds later totally reliable on reloads, flat shooting, and you do stay on target. Thanks for an informative video.

Thanks for the great video, very informative. I own the TTI Combat, and I can confirm it has a noticeable muzzle rise, but it quickly returns to zero. For me, it's a bit of a trade-off. While I'm not a competitive-level shooter, I can shoot accurately at a distance. However, when shooting at speed, it feels like the gun is faster than I am. With more practice and time on the range, I'm confident I'll close that skill gap, but I have other pistols in the same price range that allow me to shoot fast and accurately, even at a distance when needed.

Good afternoon. 💪🇺🇸💪🍻. I own both the Smith&Wesson M&P carry comp and shadow systems XR920P. So far both like PSA IACC 124 grain ammo and federal syntech defense SJHP 138 grain. I will say this tho. On the shadow models with the non-threaded comp. Make sure you feild strip it 1st and work that latch on the comp with some CLP a few dozen times and CLP the crown of that barrel where it seats into the comp. Cause. HOLY CRAP! I just totally forgot to do that with my XR920P. When I went to field, strip it after 500 rounds. Good lord! That carbon build-up did not want to let go. I actually had to use brake cleaner and spary the lock up section of the barrel to comp to bust up the carbon build-up. So! After cleaning and lubing up, that comps release lever with CLP and working it a few dozen times. 👌 good to go. Next time, I'll remind myself to field strip a new pistol when it's got the same comp design as the shadow systems. Thank God for brake cleaner

@TheGentlemanGunner Yes, sir. I've learned from these comps like the shadow systems and others. You best field strip and lube up the lock up point that the barrel seats into the comp. Luckily, the brake cleaner cut thru the HARD crusted up carbon. It didn't take much brake cleaner, just a few 1-second taps. I let it sit for 5 minutes, and the comp level moved over nice, and the barrel popped out. Tell you what. I will not forget to field strip and lube everything before shooting again

Good stuff! You think the XR920P would likely malfunction with Federal HST 124 grain since it had issues with the FMJ version? Also, seeing the Hit Factor data you've shared across all your vids, why do you think the XR920P is among your top performers in the Transitions Drill yet is among the bottom performers for the 25 yard Bill Drill? Attribute it to the unique return to zero that you hadn't warmed up to yet when you ran the Bill Drill maybe? Heard a few folks say that the compensator on the m&p doesn't really do too much. How do you feel? You recently grabbed a radian ramjet? Planning on running your shooting drills with it any time soon? Would be interesting to see how it competes against, say, your macro legion shooting scores.
@TheGentlemanGunner
@TheGentlemanGunner 3 ай бұрын
Ammo - That was an interesting malfunction and one I was surprised it had. Typically a feeding issue is related to a few variables… magazines, extractor tension, recoil spring weight and bullet design. Im still perplexed as to why it happened as Fed124 usually feeds in every gun. I’m leaning towards extractor and possibly recoil spring weight largely because it only happened SHO and verified that when I went back to having both hands suggesting it may need a firmer foundation to cycle. As far as your ammo choice, it should feed HSTs… but that could be something I look at in the future. 25yd Bill Drill - I was warmed up and the XR920P wasn’t the first gun I shot on that drill for that particular Day. Typically what that drill exposes is trigger pull weight/quality as well as weight. When guns are on the lighter side they tend to not stabilize as quickly heavier guns can at those distances. As this gun cycles as quick as it does… I recall pulling the trigger as quickly as I saw the sights… I was definitely not slow… but being lighter can cause it to move around more which in turn can be magnified with a trigger pull that you have to put a little more effort into. Radian Ramjet - that is being filmed this week on my G45! M&P Comp feel - in general, nearly ever shooter that says that is going purely on feeling and what they see on their sights yet not quantifying it… largely why I don’t watch most gun channels. The drills that verify comps the best on my channel are the doubles drills (how quickly can I split it while maintaining a 3-4” group) as well as the 25yd Bill drill (how quickly does the gun recover all together). For me, the M&P validation’s showed up on the bill drill especially when I manage to pull out a quick time and get one run with all hits in the down zero zone. So I’m confident the gun’s Comp/Port is doing its job.

Maybe I'm missing something, in my mind there's no reason for frames that aren't polymer or steel. Steel adds weight to soak up recoil. Polymer adds flex to soak up recoil. Alloy and aluminum frames done seem to add enough weight to make up for the lack of flex in the frame and I've just not had a very good time shooting them. Is there a good reason I'm missing for these frames?

@FiringLineShooting 3 ай бұрын
I love your reviews, But I have to disagree on your comments about the carry comp. I don't think it's fair to chalk it up as a "you" problem and say it's better if you bear down on the grip. All guns are going to shoot better, faster, more consistently the tighter you can squeeze the gun. The Carry Comp leaves something to be desired up front and I believe that issue may be that it is oversprung. I'll have to try messing with the springs, but I was shocked by how much recoil there was and how badly it tracked compared to other guns. I'm hoping this is a spring issue and not just the comp/port being terrible.
@TheGentlemanGunner
@TheGentlemanGunner 3 ай бұрын
@@FiringLineShooting I like where you’re going with this. Better way I could’ve described it is… the sensation it gives in recoil leads you think you may not have to grip it as hard… the way you said it makes sense. Where I’ll add a thought is that not every gun in every situation will preform better with a tighter grip… my example is a 2011 at 25 plus yards (perhaps in general with this gun) would do worse with a tighter (as in death squeeze) grip for the reason that you’re overly engaging muscles that in turn create tension. Tension at further distances can disturb the finesse required to hit ideal shots in a competitive setting. This is something a good amount of shooters on the Action Pistol scene constantly work at. For the Carry Comp, the sensation of recoil and sights (while wild, still sensible for me at least) told me biomedical computer I was good until hits verified otherwise. To be fair that is me as a shooter and my only thought is to make it make sense if someone has results similar to mine which I feel confident would be a good number. Regardless, I appreciate the challenge and it gives me other things to think about. If you end up doing anything with the spring tuning, I’d love to hear about and what your feedback is.

Unfortunately none of these are particularly interesting to me… Let me explain. Current competition rule sets limits these guns to idpa. Outside of that well you would arguably buy the one that is “most reliable”. This is not to say that none of these are usable. If you put the money in my bank account and made me choose? Maybe the shadow systems? Because I have plenty of Glock mags. But in terms of “interesting” I would consider the m&p and the TTI more interesting. A part of me wants the Canik TTI just so people can be upset how I would support someone who is a womanizer. It’s a potential truth serum purchase, and that’s very interesting to me.
