The goal of the midfield is to help transition the player and when you have your midfielders (especially play maker) kicking out the ball constantly and passing the ball behind the attackers' run, there's a huge issue

Paraguay did win against Brazil many times after 2008. We just didn't win in the WC qualifications. But in the Copa America for example, we actually won most of our encounters with Brazil, we are an insane pain in the ass during Copa America (except this last time). Paraguay has the 3rd best record against Brazil in CONMEBOL. Still, the win is huge and people are starting to love football again.

Vinny isn't a leader. He is the epitome of individualism and ego. He is self centered. He is incredibly talented and highly fit for the game but with those initial qualities about his personality he will limit himself his entire career. Peruvian here: We played really good against Colombia, and it put my hope higher than it was before. Against Ecuador, we played okay, but our issue is Fossati is not investing in our younger players. We’ve improved a lot, but we need more attack and use in our players, one major problem being that we have no good substitutes. It hurts me to see the other Peru fans lose faith in our team. I had faith since the beginning, that’s the whole feeling in being a football fan in Peru. It seems people have lost that. The "newer" Brazilian players can not do anything. They have never played the "Brazilian way" once while they've been at Brazil, it's all due to the coaches that have been hired by Brazil who are incompetent at their jobs. Ironically enough, I would say Neymar was truly the last one to experience being coached in such a way that makes him better than the others for Brazil. There is no personality from the coaches and there is no implementation of the Brazilian play style, hell, there's hardly any play style at all. I would like for someone to tell me any semblance of tactics that Dorival has put in place. He was supposed to be an interim, but it looks like he's the full deal now which is absolutely disappointing. It was a penalty; I had to look at the replay closely and you see the Argentine player's arm and shoulder impacting the Colombian player. It was not a hard foul but it still stopped him from following the ball that he pulled back with a firm enough hit.

Colombia played better than Argentina and won 2-1 and it could’ve been 3-1 when the Argentinian defender headed the ball out from the line of goal. Oh, please, with all the help that Conmebol and Infantino gave Argentina. 1. Having an easy group and an easy side all the way to the final; 2. Letting Argentina get their own favorite ref to replace the originally assigned ref, and 3. Playing all games in Miami - no traveling. Colombia had a harder grpup that included Brazil and Paraguay. 2. Eliminate Uruguay with 10 players over 50 minutes of play; 3. travel 2000 miles between Houston and San Francisco and then 3300 between San Franciso and Charlotte and then almost 1000 miles to Miami; 4. Playing without two key players - Lucumbi, starting defenseman due to injury and Cordoba because of card, and 5. two clear penalties for Colombia that were not called and to date they have not released the VAR video, whereas all other VARS videos got released. Sure, like those advantages, it is not hard to have a favorable score. Also, the game went into double time, and obviously Colombian players were way more tire due to the travel time, exhausting playing Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay and even with 10 players in over half the game against Uruguay. Both, Paraguay and Uruguay, play very physical games.
