I knew Bailey's would be number one! I also got the Smoke Sessions palette around the same time but haven't had the energy to play with them much yet. Figuring out color combos doesn't come naturally to me 😭. I looovee the lipsticks I got from them though, especially the liquid lipsticks from Bailey's set, so easy to use!

I have tried almost all of the Melt Palettes...the only thing I will have to say is what I've personally experienced. The shimmers are trash compared to other brands on the market. The mattes are great. But I don't see how the continue to want full price for Palettes that get moldy and the shimmers hard pan consistently. I don't use primers to spray my brushes or use my fingers in any of my makeup but still hard panning. I just don't think that's right to continue to sell products like that to their customers knowing that and not trying to fix the problem. It's been like this for years. They should do all matte Palettes and call it a day. Because to me they don't really care to figure out the problems they have for the shimmers. Before you all pull out the pitch forks let me say again.....this is my PERSONAL experience. You look great and I'm glad your experience has been one that leads you to absolutely love the brand as much as you do!

I completely agree with you. They're excellent at matte shadows, NOT at shimmers.

I'm also chiming in to say that I agree with you. As someone who got into makeup in 2020, I don't have the nostalgia (and thus the forgiveness for poor quality) that other indie makeup lovers seem to have for Melt. If any new brand came into the market with dull shimmers that hardpan, they would not be able to sell those palettes for $59 if at all. To me, Melt is a perfect example of the indie version of Urban Decay. Melt put out a few palettes that were novel at the time, then they stopped innovating while other brands worked to improve and surpass Melt.

I feel like the Bailey Saran palette is the child of Gemini and Muerte, and actually does it better imo. It's also my number 1. I hated 420 at first, now I love it. And maryjane is an incredible palette. I love Gunmetal with deep browns.

Woooo!! I was right with my guesses about your #1 and the palette on your eyes! The only Melt palette I own is one of the only ones you don't (Brunet), so it kinda makes me want to buy another one and send it to you so that you can add it to your collection. It's so basic and boring (especially for Melt), but oh so lovely, and I adore it. I loved this video so much. Four Twenty has one of the best color stories ever. I knew that it was a hit or miss in quality so my first purchase was a dud. I exchanged it and got another dud. So sad. So I just duped the color story. 😆

My Gemini 2 palette also started to get moldy after having it for a year. I was super bummed because I adore pink/red eyeshadow and that palette had some of the most unique pink shades. I won’t be repurchasing tho, and luckily my other melt palettes are fine.

Did I miss She's in Parties, or did you never have that one? I guessed it was rust on your eyes! I tried melt for the first time with that huge black friday sale, I ordered She's in Parties as it had been on my wishlist for a while, the zodiac collection because it was so cheap, but I kinda regret that purchase as I don't want it which makes it wasteful, I then made a second order which was entirely under your influence and got Gemini, which I actually love, and Muerte, which I think I'll resell as I don't see myself actually using it. So far I've used Gemini a bunch and loved it, and She's in Parties only once! I think I'll play with it today, but it leans more neutral than what I expect, and the shims are boring to me.

I had mold growing in that same shade in Gemini II. They replaced it twice for me and the same shade molded each time. When they sent the newest one I popped that shade out immediately and tossed it. I have no doubt it will mold again and I'd rather just toss it now instead of the whole palette later. The disappointing part is how Melt will not acknowledge the problem. Wax isn't fuzzy...

I've heard that some scientists who had the palette checked it themselves, and it is indeed wax. So that is a whole lot of waste with the amount of people who threw it out and did not need to. I also only this week saw someone on instagram put the shadow on a heated pad, and the wax did melt and disappear. That would not happen if it was mould.

It was so interesting watching this immediately after watching Ivy’s melt video (faceforeward) I love she’s in parties. Hated Maryjane. And Amor y mariposas is so underrated. Haven’t tried anything else yet. I don’t love the smoke theme most older palettes had.
