Hands down the best setup I've seen to date. And likely the cheapest. I'm probably going to mirror this exactly, minus the anchor setup. Dang, man nicely done!

Admittedly, as you started this vid I was a skeptic. So many videos that just waste our time. I was wrong. I did need to see it!! Excellent job, man. I just bought a Pescador Pro 100 and will be using this video to set up my crate. Thanks for sharing.

Holy Shiiiiiiidizzle ! You were not kidding, ABSOLUTELY the best crate, and I have watched about 1000. So glad I saw your video before I wasted my time, money and energy on trying to figure it out] by trial and error. The hinged top is PURE GENIUS ! Thank you for telling us about it with OUT any useless jibber jabber. Look forward to the rest of your videos. Nick in Redfield Arkansas.

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. DIY DONE GREAT. You may have knocked this out in two days but I can see you really knew what you wanted and needed. This is a true labor of love! I bought a 10.6 Old Towne Sportman kayak recently to see how the other half lives (my other kayak is a well used LL BEAN sit in). I wanted something basic that I could build up and since storage is always a concern this is a fantastic solution. Thanks so much for sharing your mind and your time :)

I just got a used Vibe 130 Sea Ghost from 2017. It's my first kayak so I don't have anything to compare it to but it's nice. It does it's job, take me fishin'. I'll have to check out your videos about it. In my opinion one of those tackle boxes is enough on the boat, and a soft bag full of soft plastics. If you find the fish they should bite lots of different stuff. A box of jig heads, weedless rigging hooks and a few hard baits are all I take for the saltwater. A few paddle tails, shrimp imitations, and jerk shads are all it takes. Mine are either Gulp, Z Man, or Salt Strong usually.

I made similar crate box, i used small tie-wraps for hinges on one side , on the other end (front of box) installed a plastic knob on one half and a small bungie cord on the other to keep it closed and secured. On the top section i purchased a cutting board and cut it with a 1/2 inch over hag on all sides, drilled two 3/8th holes on the front and two more on the back side of the cutting board about 3/4 from the (front end and back end) side of the board and opened the holes to the sides and with a bungie cord attached to each end of the small crate to create a lock and hinge using the holes on the cutting board. Everything else is similar two rod holders on each side, knife i keep it somewhere else, i have a similar anchor setup but not installed and multiple inter changeable jig boxes for different fishing scenarios

Oh man, when you were spinning the crate around to show all the angles at the end of your video, I noticed your "Don't Mess With Texas" sticker. I just caught a glimpse of it on a small screen & thought it said: "Don't Fish With Jesus". I burst out laughing because I was thinking about all the fishing parables in the Bible & realised he would be the last person you'd want to fish with if it were a competition. He would best you every time to the point of seriously pissing you off. He'd be catching them all while you came up empty handed. Now if you were fishing together, you would probably go home with lots of fish. At any rate, not being from the USA, I don't always automatically recognise all your slogans. Cheers from Canada. BTW, that's a smart setup you made for yourself.

Saw this video awhile back. Since then I have customized my crate system. Just stumbled across this video again. Enjoyed it even more this time as I can now really appreciate a well put together crate. I might steal your anchor tube idea. I like what I did with mine but I like yours better. Not sure if my well is wide enough though.

I made a crate system like this using the zip ties for hinges. I think I need to make the slots bigger as it ratchets tighter and tighter with each opening. I saw another diy using offset cabinet door hinges. I think they would be sturdier and Align better. Buy heavier stiffer crates over lighter.
