@@princessmaly The first episode or two (I forget if it's a two parter) is pretty dire, then you get a genuinely gory murder a few episodes later, and then in the final stretch of the show there's a MASSIVE catastrophe/overall status quo change that I've never seen any other Ultraman come close to doing. But all that being said, most of the show does feel like the cartoon fever dream of an insane clown lol. I think that juxtaposition is one of the reasons it's my favorite Ultra series.

Oh it's dark as hell.......at times. At one point, they kill off a lot of the characters in one episode. On top of that, a villain at one point captured Leo, and saws off his limbs and head. In one episode, a man is cut in half in front of his kids. Those kids get adopted, only for the exact same thing to happen to their new dad, again in front of them. Show jumps back and forth between dark and silly
