2024 Porsche Macan Review | The BEST Luxury SUV?

When I decided to replace my last car, I looked at dozens of replacements and didn't find anything I liked until I came across the Macan. Ended up buying the base model w/$17k in options and have no regrets. The performance is adequate, the handling is amazing, fit and finish near perfect and it looks so nice.

the s / gts is the ICE way to go! sleeper suv gapping 90% of traffic: so fun to drive yet useable for almost everything you will ever need it to do. more comfy than an x4m, faster than the sq5, and bounds sportier than a glc amg

Biggest question is do the 2023 and 2024 encounter oil leaks like their predecessors ?

Nice detailed review. You mentioned the GV70, I bought a 2022 3.5 Sport Prestige, had the Macan been reasonably close in price I would have bought one. But (todays prices) a fully loaded GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige is $70K. A comparable Macan performance wise would be the Macan S, matching specs to the Genesis using the Porsche configurator the Macan S would be $95K, and you still don't get blind spot cameras, 3D instrument cluster, driver massage, and concierge service for 3 years and a 10 year warranty. The Porshe is the performance king, no doubt, but how often do you drive flat out, and I couldn't justify the $25K difference.

Thank you for making this video, it was very informative. For what it's worth, I think several of your shots are a little bit overexposed, such as when the vehicle is driving toward the camera and you couldn't pick out the four individual lights. Not meant to be a big criticism.

A Genesis is no where near the driving performance or the quality of a Macan S. Keep dreaming.

Today's prices: you can order a 4 cyl Base Macan with leather and Air suspension (3500 discount) for well under 70K - if you value ride and handling, even a Base Macan is vastly superior for the same/lower cost. If you want acceleration at a discount and don't care about the ride, or reliability then buy the GV70. Performance??? Which car do you think would track faster? Enough said.

@@ericschmitz357 Horsefeathers. I tested a base Macan, it's base for a reason. You have to use the Macan S and add a ton of options to compare specs/features, and you're in the 90K range, I'd rather have that money in the stock market. I'm retired I don't buy to track, and I'll bet Porsches owner do track don't use base Macans............

Love my new 2024 Macan. Wish it had the Heads up display like my 2018 CX9. Got used to seeing the speed and speed limit and whats around at all times. Macan doesn't alert to oncoming vehicles from the side in back up mode, even though the sensors are there. The side mirrors only alert to traffic coming up beside you. Doesn't recognize vehicles that you're passing. Seems like just a software up date could fix the last two. It's a little under-powered compared my old 70 Chevelle SS 396 and 70 challenger R/T, but you don't have to slow down for corners, so there's that.. If you do need to stop, there's some huge brakes on the Macan. It had some clunks and rattles on a 30 mile trip, only noticed when I turned off the Bose. Was able to fix that by removing golf clubs from the back. Definitely enjoy this car got

48v mild hybrid is definitely a bad idea. Not reliable at all. They had to use it to pass the emission regulations.

Exactly! Also if the lag bothers you then get the S or GTS. Screw hybrid systems… nothing but problems

Great car, but there were two issues for me. First, I have a small garage, and second was the price for content. The Macan is several inches wider than the 2024 X2 so it would be a squeeze getting both my cars in the garage. Also at the same equipment levels, the M35 X2 is $17k less and has 40 more horsepower. For those reasons I’ll put up with the clumsy styling job on the X2 and bought one.

My wife gifted me a 2024 Macan. Definitely higher quality and superb handling. I was a bit skeptical about the 2 liter engine but impressive as well. Have not been able to figure out how to engage engine brake when down shifting⁷ but other than that, it gets two thumbs up.

Why anyone would choose the 4 is puzzling. It's like buying a Nikon/Canon camera body and sticking a Sigma lens on the front. The specs are decent 300lb ft tq is nice. But the 2.9 L 6 is where the real power starts to happen. Aaaand more options for tune, exhaust, turbo upgrade etc.

Im a fan of the T version! It handles like some older sport cars! It could use 15% more hp and tq, even as a 4 cyl turbo. Porsche does not care about fuel economy. That exhaust is stock and not the performance version.
