Minister Thomas Whitfield was a master musician/composer. He left us seemingly way too soon but his legacy still lives on.

My word....what has happened to this type of TRUE Gospel? Lord, help us to remain focused on YOU! The almighty dollar has watered down a pure, potent, concentrated Gospel! Sorry, I had to say it! Thank you T. Whitfield! Thank you, whomever is kind enough to post these precious GEMS. Some of us CRAVE this. Its like being able to exhale and breathing in this fresh wind of Gospel Music, that the world is trying to drown out. My God, listen to that.....

One of my favorite songs in the history of Gospel music! This song was one of the first challenges for Gospel musicians! EVERYBODY was trying to play the outro music!

There has never been or will it ever be a Composer,Musician,Producer nor Minister of Music like Min.Thomas Whitfield. When you can 20plus years later, still sing the songs,do the vocal riffs, copy the style of chord progressions,etc.....You were TRULY before your time.....and He Was. He's a GIFT that is forever missed. Heaven is having AWESOME Church I'm sure :)

I remember hearing this on the former Heaven 97 KHVN radio station as a child and loved it. It’s on my Spotify playlist now and even though I’m Baptist, I turn a little Pentecostal when listening to it (full out dancing and singing the vamp with everything I’ve got).

WOW.. Our church use to SAANG THE LIFE OUTTA this song.. Im getting goosebumps at the memories of HOW MANY SOULS this song bought to the lord!.. We used to KILL Sunday night Choral selection.. Then they'd speed it up and go to COGIC style shouting!

This has been one of my favorites! God bless the late Min Thomas W! Such an anointed professor of the gospel. Bishop Paul Morton's sister was to be his wife, but God knows best! Rest with Jesus, sir!

One of my heroes and one of the best pure tenor voices I ever heard was a member of the Whitfield Company and that was Peter Ortiz. He grew up in Gary and was a member of the Angelic Choir of Jerusalem Baptist Church and a wonderful person as well as singer. I miss him still to this day

And THANK YOU for YOUR contribution through video clips and otherwise...they will allow his memory to continue. Does anyone happen to know what has happened to Wendy Davis? (the female lead in this clip) I noticed that none of the songs that she sang were included in the James Cleveland Award presentation. The Whitfield Company is still together aren't they?

The only thing that comes close to great gospel singing is the dynamic PROCLAMATION of the WORD. Whitfield is now resting with the other great musicians 🎶.

I will not use the term "never" don't say they will never be another like him. Of course he was exceptional. And that speaks for itself.but don't you know GOD has a big bull pin when it seems like there is no more Moses he raises up a Martin L King Jr. So GOD can speak it into existance.
