Once when me and my son were in the pool and he was around 8 or so, I'd grab him and throw him high and he'd scream and giggle and crash back in the water only for us to repeat the antics. Next thing you know, our dog was between him and me, blocking me from grabbing my son. He just kind of doggy paddled in-between us until we stopped. Now whenever I want to rough house with my son, the dogs get put in another space so they don't 'protect' him.
