Boy oh boy, love me a double bound Tele Custom. No wonder the older American Vintage Reissue series went on sale last month, now I'm gassing for one of these...

I been "gassing" for one of these since I first saw a new and original 1959 or '60 Esquire in cherry sunburst!

The American Originals are the best production line Fender has made in many years, in my opinion. They did themselves and guitar players, a large disservice when they dropped this series. Nice playing! And real fine camera work, btw!

I love this guitar! I love the marriage of vintage and modern it has! I love the color with a rosewood fingerboard that appears to be a slab board and not a veneer board like we see on modern Fenders that still offer a rosewood option! I even dig the binding!

I just realized that fenders stopped making squares of CVC telecasters, after releasing this series. check that their website has a CVC telecaster missing. and the funny thing is they have the same fretboard radius. if you have a squier CVC you can replace the pickup with pure vintage 64 to get the same sound

9.5" is not Original
@josephliptak6 жыл бұрын
What the hell is 1960's about it? Its more acurate to call it original 2018 series. Looks and sounds like a modern telecaster. Bring back the american vintage series, it was more like a vintage guitar. Today's wussies cry about the 7 1/4 radius.

Better than having grandpa's guitar
@randypittman21515 жыл бұрын
Joseph P Liptak Jr Dude you are whining about this axe on every related demo LOL. The only difference between this and the AVRI is the radius and CHRIST most every Custom Shop piece today is 9.5. It’s a killer axe and internally/externally as accurate as any AVRI EXCEPT for the neck profile.....which again plays BETTER than 7.25. Why work harder than you have to???
@Tonetwisters5 жыл бұрын
@@randypittman2151 I agree. I have a '73 Stratocaster and a 1991, '62 reissue, both with 7.25 boards, and the frets have to be darn near perfect, especially in the high register, to be able to bend without fretting out ... unless you jack up the bridge ... Unless you play a LOT of chords, 7.25 is next to worthless. Just my opinion, of course, which is the result of 57+ years of abusing Fenders ...

mike costello well it’s double bound, custom colour, non correct neck radius, most likely alincio pick ups. Lots of things. It might as well be just a 2018 American standard..
@mikecostello6246 жыл бұрын
So wrong. In the sixties there was a "custom telecaster" that was double bound. Custom colors were available as option.Slab boards were discontinued in the early sixties, the pickups were alnico etc. Fender is not saying this is an exact replica for that you go to the custom shop which most commonly uses a 9.5 radius. Please do your homework and go argue with the mailman over the fact stamps don't look like the old ones.. No reply necessary, buzz off and find something else to do.
@josephliptak6 жыл бұрын
The american pure vintage series was worth the money but how can you justify spending the same amount of money for something that doesn't resemble a 1960s telecaster? If im going to be spending two grand on a guitar thats supposed to look like a 60s telecaster then it better damn well have the 60s neck with 7. 25 radius to go with the rest of the 60s body. This is so ridiculous. This guitar should be priced no higher than a standard telecaster.
@jm19336 жыл бұрын
why pay that much for a guitar with outdated specs? better off ordering a replica. and clearly more work an thought went into this guitar than the standard range

this is supposed to be a 60's telecaster series not a custom 60's telecaster series. so again since the majority of the telecaster made in the 60's were not custom models why would you represent the whole fucking decade with one.
@jaysjaysgarden3986 жыл бұрын
SuperMarioZombies Ummmmmm because this is a tele custom ...Get it yet ? do you need to be told some other way?.
@supermariozombies48246 жыл бұрын
Your the one that doesn't get it you fucking moron. The series is called American Original 60's Telecaster not Custom Telecaster or maybe you have a reading comprehension problem. It's supposed to represent the entire decade of Telecasters of which the Custom is a minuscule part. This would be like the 50's series being represented by an Esquire. Apparently your not savvy enough to comprehend this.
