I just love the way we've seen a movie about love that doesn't get the happy ending. Tom and Summer just wanted different things from their relationship and that just proves how communication is key everytime things get romantic. Tom fell in love with his idea of Summer, not Summer herself (as it's obviously shown in the bedroom scene when Tom just zones out when pretending to listen to her) and while it may be heartbreaking for him and many other people watching the movie... maybe we have to take it as a lesson and be more mature. Be there for your partner, listen to them, try and understand them. When meeting Autumn, at the end of the movie, I think Tom had learned his lesson. At least that's what I choose to believe, anyway. He understood what he did wrong previously and truly loved Autumn.

There are parts of the movie that really hit me. When summer said to tom that, no one can give him the consistency he was asking. The scene of expectation vs reality. The feeling of being lost and suddenly, being given false hope. That Tom just gave too much. In his own ways, Tom is being blinded by his love and desire. He was just think of himself and not of Summer. I think Tom and Summer just didn't have the same goals and pacing in life. Its a very sad movie. Heartbreaking. Love is really inconsistent. Sometimes it's happy and exciting but it can also be sadness.

I remember the moment when my best friend, the girl whom I was deeply in love with, announced to me that she had met someone and that she was gonna start a relationship with them. For religious reasons, she could never have taken my hand, and I knew that, but jealousy made me so upset that I rudely trashed our friendship and disappeared from her life. Our fate was inevitable, but my only regret was that I should have seen her off with more grace and dignity. There are a lot of sad movies about love out there, but this one hit me dead square in the heart for how relatable it was.

Unrequited Love is the most misunderstood love yet one of the most painful things a human will ever experience. I noticed this because of people here hating on Tom. When you are in love, expectations are natural. It's just sucks that not everyone can't reciprocate our feelings. In my opinion, Tom and Summer have their own fair share of mistakes. Afterall, the moral of the story is don't settle for incompatibility. Tom should have seen the red flags earlier and Summer should have cut things off immediately when she noticed Tom's growing affection to her. I experienced it both. The dumper and the dumpee. But being the dumpee is the worst. It really clouds your mind and blinded by love. That's why when you got rejected, just leave. I repeat, L-E-A-V-E before you fell into an endless cycle of self-destruction just like what Tom experienced.

If she reads this, I want her to know I understand. We live on the same island but on the opposite sides. We spoke different dialects so we had to resort to english most of the time. She's outgoing, makes new friends quickly, while I'm almost always in my room, and struggling to shed my social anxiety. She's a genius at math, while i still struggle with a lot of the basics. She always worked hard to keep herself stable to study in a city that's not her home, while I was privileged and comfortable. She was confident enough to let me, my friends and my family know she was committed, while I was always too scared and anxious thinking I might never be enough for her friends and family even though that's just the least I could do. Then the pandemic happened and I was even worse at being a partner than I already was. Now she's back to her city and going to new ones and not looking back. With someone else that I know I won't even be a fraction of. I am happy that she's happy but i'll never lie and say that i've stopped loving her and am not going through so much pain that i know I probably deserve. She wants to forget, and I never want to. She thanked me for everything, but I still want to apologize for everything. She asked me to let her go but I love her so. Be safe- always.
