Hannibal , to me, is the best interviewer of these wrestling 🤼♀️ personalities; 1. He does his homework. 2.He s a wrestler so he has a 1st hand understanding of the biz .3.he ax real questions not just trying to get dirt on people. 4 He’s a fan too; thus having an almost “kid in a candy store” approach & appreciation for what he’s getting to do.

I will never understand why Jeff hired Vince Russo and everyone that made WCW unwatchable . He should have just hired Cornette and Dutch for creative .
@Blueguy726 жыл бұрын
He thought he was the next Vince McMahon and with JJ and Dutch and Cornette those 3 could control Russo's creative vomit and pick through and find the good parts and use those. Unfortunately there is only ONE Vince McMahon who is (so far) the only human who understands the wrestling business on one hand AND the financial business on the other. No other person has had the grasp of both aspects of the wrestling business and that's why they have all tried and failed with the exception of WWE.
@I_Am_The_Social_Reject5 жыл бұрын
Vince McMahon without the right people is nothing. He did different in the 80s and is good at making wrestling profitable.. But without the right team, he fails time and time again. Russo gave TNA and WWF it's highest ratings.. Cornett did that ever? Nope.. Dutch? Nope. You just want typical wrestling that is safe.. which is why you choose them. They aren't going to make wrestling must see. Vince McMahon hasn't helped make WWE watchable just profitable.
@Deadpool_644 жыл бұрын
@@I_Am_The_Social_Reject Actually Dutch was writing the programs that were the highest rated segments on the show, Russo's were lowest. Dutch wrote Joe vs Angle, which led to their highest PPV buy rates. Russo had Dixie fire all of Jeff's boys and TNA tanked after they left. Then Hogan and Bischoff came in, tanked again. They never recovered after Road Dogg, Savio, Dutch, etc got fired. All Russo wanted to do was trash tv, and the others were writing pro wrestling.

Jerry Jarrett and Jim cornette could have ran TNA and it would have succeeded. Add in dutch mantel and you would have a serious competitor to WWE for years. And Jim cornette whether you love or hate him was right on the target about jerry and Jeff's falling out and they are both right about Jeff hiring a bunch of people who failed expecting a different outcome than that.
@johneastwood30392 жыл бұрын
Cornette has never achieved anything, how's SMW doing?
@Matt-cr4vv Жыл бұрын
For one having those guys run things would have improved business and when they were allowed to have say the business did well. But they never would’ve been a true competitor to WWE. Wwe was just light years ahead on revenue streams to ever have been threatened by TNA. Even at their peak TNA did less than half the viewers. As for hiring people who were in companies that failed that logic doesn’t work in wrestling. You can use that as your criteria when only one company has survived. Even Jerry would be ruled out if that was the metric. Same for Corny

Maybe Jeff Jarrett should have gone to Japan and wrestled there instead of starting TNA. Easier money and less stress. The dust from the Monday Night Wars needed to settle more in order to get ready for the next generation of pro wrestling in the U.S.

Japan was no joke back then maybe he would have become a completely different person. Maybe he becomes the biggest gaijin baby face of the 90s. Think about it. none of the US wrestlers back then stayed in Japan or held a main event spot for an extended period of time. I wonder why. We're the Japanese not open to foreign talent?
@RockandrollNegro3 жыл бұрын
It was money. The only guys making top draw in Japan were the guys Vince was sending over. They paid those guys top dollar because they didn't want to damage their relationship with Vince. Guys going to Japan as free agents were seen as desperate for work and paid accordingly, typically a lot less than the US for more strenuous matches. The work was usually steady though, so guys could work Japan five nights a week and not have to travel the country like in America, so guys like Bruiser Brody and Vader loved Japan.

I think the biggest mistake TNA made was breaking away from NWA. Once that happened, you could start seeing the decline of the product itself. When the Carter's got involved, everything went downhill & that never would've happened if NWA was involved.
@HipHop4lyfeallday5 жыл бұрын
RaIdErNaTiOn 74 thing is they(tna) we’re not following regulations especially when it came to the championships they were switching champions without the nwa board approval. After awhile the nwa got feed up and had enough first they let them keep the belts but by 2007 they took the belts back forcing tna to create their own championships.

I have been watching pro wrestling since 1979,,Jerry Jarrett was just a business man, he wrestled in the 60/70,,but had no charisma,was small ,could work,,the fargos,the king, and jeff, are legends of memphis,,not jerry , he did not pay the talent ,,and was no good in general his son is now a future legend ,with flair,hogan, etc but not jerry thankfully he is out of wresting now
