Hi Jack!...missed the live but really enjoyed the replay.I remember following Verne Gagne through wrestling magazines. I even had Verne's trading card.🇨🇦

Thank you sir; as I stated in the interview I couldn’t get enough of the AWA on TSN back in the day and when I first went to Vegas was saddened to find The Showboat had been demolished.

I just love Greg gagne. He's a true legend and a pioneer. He was really the first of the high flying smaller guys and he was a legit bad ass in the ring.

The reason Larry Nelson left had nothing to do with his career, the law was after him (DUI) and he got out of town.

How could Greg forget Waylon Jennings. LOL. Being at WrestleRock, I always thought the connection was that the Dukes of Hazzard was on before AWA's weekly Sunday Show, here in the Twin Cities. Waylon, of course, is the singer of the theme song and the narrator. Great interview!!

No Grizzly Adams was on before AWA wrestling on Sundays.

Just when I thought all my bitching would get Greg to stop saying DuPont (Network) instead of DuMont, he did it. He started to say DuPont and finally said it correctly, DuMont. As I take great satisfaction in his finally getting it correct after decades, ten seconds later he says DuPont. You can't win :)

Very much enjoyed this interview despite the tech issues. Greg was very gracious and a great storyteller….

LOL, I've told Greg many times that it was not "Dupont". The most recent was when I was at his home this summer. I told him again that it was "Dumont".

@@georgeschire3590 That's funny, thanks. Coincidentally, just yesterday I heard someone else do it, it was a guest on the Bradshaw/Brisco podcast, I think. The only reason it rankles me is that I consider myself an amateur early TV historian. :) Maybe Greg is using it as his gimmick now, to get heat with us marks. LOL

@@jimh.412 Greg says a lot of BS but on this he's right. Hulkamania started in the AWA. You only have to look at the footage to see the reactions when he was with Bockwinkel. IIRC Hogan just arrived in the AWA when they had a group of wrestlers appear on the Phil Donahue Show. Did Hulk get over with the crowd, nope, but guess who was over like Rover with the female audience, Greg Gagne.
