I think a missed opportunity for the honey dew is to make them green esp with the green case. Feels more like they went for a cantaloupe than a honeydew.

I use to live in Satsuma in Kagoshima, Japan known for their citrus. My guess is they were aiming for the Satsuma Mandarin with that color. You were probably referring to the Final FI-BA-SS which has a single BA. I got a pair, wish you guys can review that piece someday. It's discontinued from what I heard though.

It looks like Satsuma is their replacement for the Orion. It too was a Single BA design, but in the metal chassis. Speaking of which it looks like they’re using the Andromeda/Polaris/Jupiter/Orion type design for the chassis here. I’ll be looking forward to hearing these

Help, My Campfire Audio Satsuma sometimes has a weird faint distortion in the left driver, especially when i use it in my HiBy r3 pro, it doesn't always happen, only to specific tracks, but when i listen to the same track using only my smartphone, it rarely shows that faint distortion, any idea whats causing the faint distortion? Is it my Dap or a faulty left driver ? If i intentionally crank up the volume, it gets really loud without distortion lol, but there are few tracks that manifest that weird faint distortion, I'm really confused with what's causing this.

Hi, actually, I own Hiby R3 Pro Saber. Sometimes I had this experience too with sensitive IEMs. Was it a distortion or a slight sibilant? I don't own satsuma, so I don't know. I am planning to get Honey Dew instead.

@@bedroommusician6135 My Satsuma was faulty, i went to our local reseller's shop, and tested their demo unit of satsuma, their satsuma souds perfect, no issues or any distortions, they offered me a replacement unit after they confirmed my issue.

@@ANOLE_VX Damn man, glad to hear it's okay. This kind of QC should have never been expected from a brand like Campfire Audio. Moreover, Hiby R3 Pro/ R3 Pro Saber usually has buggy firmware. The current v1.7 and previous one v1.6 have an issue with Tidal playback, at least mine. That's why I thought your dap was the problem. I haven't followed audio world (IEM) for awhile now. So I just found out about these new Campfire IEMs.

@@futoenjoyer ah, yet another one of those couch experts, I see. You're just not quite there yet, buddy. Pinna gain is a myth and a fabrication, graphs are herecy, bass shelf is our Holy Mountain. Pro tip: Eventually it will sound good (enough) because, as everyone knows, true hi-fi sound is an acquired taste and takes some time to accommodate oneself to.

I'm personally not a huge fan of the shells used here, they look cheap and plasticky. I've seen much nicer builds in the $200-250 range.

Yeah same with me. There’s a lot of chi fi brand like fiio that offer a great price and damn great quality build. For example im own the fiio fh3 as my first entry level iem. The build quality is solid as it used aluminium for the shell and the price is affordable. Im pairing with my new AK SR25 mk2 and sound solid. But CA still on my wishlist especially Andromeda 2020. I would like to try this entry level CA iem honeydew but that plastic shell look so damn cheap and it’s glossy and fingerprint magnet

I Think two reasons the comets sound so good is that stainless steel is very dense and they fit deep in the ear canal. Larger IEMs dont always fit comfortably in my ears.

@@tristanyseult The stainless steel is really nice as a housing material but I wouldn't discount the ABS used on the Satsuma. It's a good material too. I can see that larger, low profile shape being an issue for many. The classic bullet shape is the best for overall universal appeal :) Thankfully, the Comet and Satsuma are tuned the same so if you've got one, you don't really need the other. You're not missing out on much as a Comet user.

Yeah, I noticed the same thing about the camera focus. It really bugged me throughout the video. As hunkalicious as Andrew is, I'd prefer a top-down camera view for unboxing and displaying all the contents, similar to what Super* Review does.
