Great lecture of a woman, a scholar, a philosopher, a devout catholic, who sadly passed away about her husband, Dietrich von Hildebrand, one of the greatest catholic philosophers of the 20th century. May both rest in peace.

What a blessing to behold this giant figure! I was hooked start to finish, she didn't skip a beat and ended it on a powerful note without so much as a written note to help her out, all out of memory all seamlessly woven into a coherent narrative. Wonderful absolutely wonderful.

The sin of Adam and Eve was disobedience to God. They were give only one commandment, not to eat of the fruit, and they listened to the serpent (Satan) and disobeyed Gods Commandment.

Alice says some wonderful things. Her greatest flaw is she draws on the Catholic Church and Philosophers on most of her faith INSTEAD of God's word. John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth, thy word is truth. This is most of humanity's problem, including most professing Christians, that the only real truth comes from God's word. (The Holy Scriptures) Once we stray from God's word.we are led down all kinds of insane philosophies, ideas and truths. People must understand that all the knowledge and truth mankind has comes from God's word, not the Catholic Church or philosophers. Just look at the Catholic Church horrible history. We must rely on God, Christ and his word. The law of Christ. If anyone seeks to glorify God, you must get to know him. John 17:3 and this is Eternal Life, that they might know thee the only True God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

There is something called inspiration, which is kinda different from faith. And we cannot judge accurately what her relationship with God is as we really don't know her personally, even though she is outspoken on many things. What we see of her is simply a tip of the iceberg. Behind the cameras and lectures, I'm pretty sure she's a lot more than what she shows in public. As for the Roman Catholic Church's horrible history, what religion doesn't have one? People can choose who they can look up to depending on their own perception of things, and frankly I'm glad she draws much of her inspiration from unlikely Roman Catholic figures instead of the trending figures of influence like Hitler, Karl Marx, or Hegel. Not that I have a problem with them but honestly, seeing them mentioned on almost anything related to Social Sciences and Philosophy, it's getting common and boring.

@Michael Mardian More food for thought. The reformation divided God's kingdom. Now there are thousands of protestant churches that cannot agree with each other. Jesus prayed that we would all be one. This is why when something goes wrong in the Church you fix that thing you don't abandon the church and make up your own, which is what Martin Luther, and many others did. Jesus said the gates of hell will not prevail against his church, and they have not. The Catholic Church is protected by Jesus and holds the fullness of the truth. The church, not the Bible, is the pillar and foundation of the truth. 1Tim. 3:15 Don't get me wrong, the Bible is the infallible word of God, but nowhere in the Bible does it say that the Bible is the only source of truth. Jesus did not come here to write the Bible, he came to build His Church. The marks of the true church are that it is one, holy, Catholic (or universal)and Apostolic. No other church fits this description, except for the Catholic Church. It is the Catholic Church that decided what books would go into the Bible. It wasn't put together for decades after Jesus died. What do you think they did in those decades without the Bible? They preached, as Jesus taught them. Look at 2 Thes 2:15; "So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us." The oral teaching of Christ and his apostles is viewed in the New Testament as authoritative. Written by Oliver Piers.

@@suew4609 All organized religion is corrupt. Notice it is all from the top down. Jesus said it is not to be so among us.

We are called to Worship God. This is what joins us to him. We glorify many things but only Worship him. When you worship anything else you leave the first Commandment. He created The Catholic Church in order to show us the way to worship God.
