“The free exchange of ideas and the unfettered pursuit of the truth” died in US higher education with the advent of woke ideology.

Since many international students pay full tuition, I assume the current status quo will stay as is.
@redredred12 сағат бұрын
What does the school care about that? They charge everyone and even though the domestic students pay with loans, at that point, the school has the money and to them it's the same thing.

@redredred1 international and students from different states typically pay higher tuition at Public Universities than people from the State the school resides in. It is a bit of a money scam.

The international students pay a high cost for tuition. That helps lower the tuition cost for our students. Some people don't know that.
@bearmerica66683 сағат бұрын
Oh yeah, how much?
@terranova98383 сағат бұрын
@@bearmerica6668 depends, it can be up to double or triple in some universities, ultimately, while it isn't a good idea to abuse the international student system, it's also not a good idea to cut it of either, or else, the burden of financing goes back to the state or federal government, and considering the amount of states on a shoestring budget, it isn't really viable. Additionally, iirc, Trump has mentioned that skilled labour is what he wanted so this might just be things being blown out of proportion. Edit: For clarrification, inernational students aren't the only way universities fund themselves, there are also grants, donations, etc,however, the scale of those rises with the reputation of the university, deservedly or not.
@EverettBurger3 сағат бұрын
People do know that fact. But, you are assuming international students paying full tuition keeps the tuition lower for US students. One could also assume that the extra money coming in simply is spread amongst administrators
