This game was over turn 4 but I kept watching just to see why the Axis thought they had a chance. Out of about 200 Anniversary games I’ve seen Germany come out of their capital being owned multiple times in a game only one time. It was because Italy never fell and couldn’t have but it’s too long of a story to tell here. I never go for tech in this game without house rules because it is simply too much luck. I like how you tied up this video with a D-Day mention.

The tech is interesting, but not for everyone. I rarely use it, but I thought "why not?"

I haven't played this version of AA yet, so I can't comment on the opening moves, but I feel like Germany completely misplayed the followup of the poor rolls on turn 1. I would have bought more in infantry to hold the lines, before investing in more armor.

Had a wild game with some guys in my platoon on the weekend. The US main land was invaded twice and Russia nearly took Asia and Europe before a storm of tanks slapped em... rematch this Saturday.

Never played 41 version - it looks considerably OP for the Axis (even with 12 ipc bid) - Japan in particular. Where are the British boats? Start with 5 transports? No Russian airforce? Seems kinda crazy - i'll have to try it out on triple A. Great vid though - thanks!

Japan in the 41 setup is impossible to defeat as the US if the japan player is good

A lot depends on how the Allies approach the game. I think Japan is definitely in the best position - tons of equipment, easy access to money, and no difficult enemies at the start. But, they do have to get things done quickly, which can cause them to do things they may not want to do!

Wow, that's a different game alright, you know its bad for the axis when the soviets one of the weakest nations across all axis and allies games, Are rolling on through Germany.

USSR can do well in this version, if the UK and USA put the pressure on the Germans. Team effort!

@@TheHilltopPillbox Agreed but opening this I think is the issue, France isn't a option in 41 until what around round 2-3. I feel a standard should be a Norway invasion.
